Really though, my point being it could be anyone... but it still doesn't matter. I'm hearing now she's alive and responding to doctors. Good to hear.

I'm a big supporter for guns and concealed weapons... but it's tough to support after things like this.

I am a believer in the Grassroots Tea Party
and I find that you lump all TP in the same
fold is rather moronic.

The Tea Party message and policies only fan the flames and inspire nuts like this shooter to "strike back" against authority/government figures as part of the "revolution" etc. People on here have been practically frothing at the mouth for the last 2 years demanding "action" like this sad incident be taken against those evil politicians.

I said this kind of rhetoric was dangerous months ago and nobody listened. Unfortunately I suspect we're seeing the results now.

Political assassinations are acts of desperation from people who either have something to gain, or have nothing to lose. It is sad, and it is wrong.

Also, if only all American's had the right to own guns, then maybe some hero could have pulled his gun out and shot the shooter before he could have done as much damage...oh...er....

Who would take her spot as representative in the event of her death?

Maybe they could of been apart of this as they really wanted the job position...

Jared Laughner is apparently the shooter. AP news in the States has reported that to SKY News here in the UK...

I'm reading reports that others were armed and returned fire. It may be that the body count is so high due to people being trapped in the cross-fire...

AP News in the US reported it on the newswire (news agency intranet-type communications medium)

Apparently 6 are dead. Jared Laughner (the shooter/ killer/ gunman) is a 21 yr old male who may have been shot in the incident. A semi-automatic weapon was apparently used.

Hospital dealing with 9 wounded, some police sources said 18 were injured/ killed.

The hospital spokesman just said that he will only give out 'releasable' information. He failed to clarify anything really, and took only about four questions before saying the next press release will be at 6pm local time.


The gathered press used their last question to complain that he was giving no useful information!

Unfortunately, I would rather be caught in a cross-fire with a gun, then sitting like a duck in a barrel and have no protection.

That is my personal opinion.

My condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims.

A Federal Judge appointed by Bush was shot and killed so everyone needs to stop with the Politics.
