Now take this article and couple it with this one
Terrorist watch list: One tip now enough to put name in database, officials say
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Don't you get warm fuzzy feelings?
Let's say you get into a debate, maybe a conservative vs. a liberal and things are said, and BAM!
Your name is in a database, easy with the Internet ID, and you are on a terror watch list

Oh you feel that this is far fetched?

Hell... I think an Internet ID is far fetched but it who knows.

I really hope that this does not happen, zero privacy is what we'll get if it does

What gets me and what i find funny is that Obama ONLY has the power that the PEOPLE bestow upon him....did ANYONE........ANYONE give him this authority?????

FECK NO!!!! He is the "president of the corporation "U.S." and NOT the president of America or these united states of America to be more specific. Symantecs? Well, read the federal code, there are approximately 450 definitions for the "U.S." and NONE contain the phrase or words, "including the 50 union states". So....NO.. Obama does NOT have the jurisdictional authority to dictate or transfer or bestow power or authority to ANYONE or ANY fruadulently created corporate agency. PERIOD.

End of story, and until the rest of "Amercia" wakes up and understands their country/State/Sovereign being, we are going to be getting into deeper troubles ahead. WAKE UP!!!

Man I get so tired of this crap, nothing against the Op or the post quoted, just sayin'. Time for everyone to wake the hell up and understand WHO is the boss here..... WE THE PEOPLE ARE!!!!

It took Sony a couple years and multi-million dollars in research and development to create a CD impossible to copy... It took 10 minute to a guy on the same morning the CD was put on the store shelves to hack with with a .99cents marker...

My point is... if its created by man... it can be hacked by man...

And who do you think will shed the cash to equip every single computer out there with fingerprint readers and/or other biometric authentication means... It will be a code or something similar or something you can load on a USB stick...

BUT

Here how its going to happen and I'm 99% sure... ID hits the population... Internet ID card gets tied to National ID card... 6 months later mass identity theft across the US... Hackers blamed and so many identities have been compromised that its impossible to revert back to the old cardless system as you can't change your name and all your infos... Government will demonize hackers and push in draconian internet law than plant in the idea that the only thing that can save people from those horrible identity theft will be to tie their card ID to their fingerprint... Mass flocks of sheeps will run to get this done unknowing whether their identity has been stolen and not used yet or not BUT they rather take no chance... And get a fake sense of security so they can sleep tight at night and hurry up in the morning to check the sales and buy the latest Ab-Rocker model is out...

6 months later... MSM propagate new waves of fear mongering stating hackers have found easy ways to beat the fingerprint scanners with gummy bears and other makeshift cheap devices making it untraceable... Government issue statement only possible safe solution is to have chip implanted... only way you steal your ID is to cut your arm... MASSES of sheep running to the guillotine...

Meanwhile other more intelligent (tinfoil hat) folks whom knows whats coming will be denied the "privilege" to use the internet because the refuse the "ID"...

Government pop a bottle of the finest champagne because they kill two birds with one stone... they laid the basis of what will lead them to chip people AND got the "tinfoil" community thats been causing them issues and leaking their secrets off the internet...

You know whats really evil about this??? Tell Joe Somebody he has to be fingerprinted or chip implanted and you will have ww3. But what if you tell him its because he could get ripped of by vicious 12 years old hackers and without this he won't be able to watch porn, order everything from ebay instead of having to freeze is rear end driving to Walmart and talk dirty with mid 20's girl on the net acting like he's a young hot stud... And ask yourself what he's going to do???

I work in tech support you have NO IDEA... and I MEAN absolutely NO IDEA how people are bat # insane when it comes to lose their internet for 15 minutes... there's no such thing as Christmas/night/birthdays or nothing else that gets between most people I speak to and their internet...

# even one woman had taken one of our field techs as hostage... She didn't want to let him leave until her internet worked so she could facebook... The guy told her he had to get a special tool in his van and 1/4 miled his ass far from there soon as he got into the van...

But seriously there... watch this unfold... maybe not exactly as I said it but close...

Why can't some people just rule over other people like family, instead of like paranoid tyrants? So afraid we going to learn the truth, so afraid we're going to have more power. Heaven forbid you wouldn't have control over every spec of people on the planet. This is insanity in my eyes.

To the powers that be. The cat is out of the bag, you can't put it back in now. And, the American people know something is wrong. Every stupid thing you do is making you look worse and worse. Just stop lying to us, stop hurting us, and let's move the hell on. Would it be so wrong if we had peace, prosperity, and sanity? Please.

Crisis, What Crisis, sounds more like an Album Cover....

According to to Oh-Bama and US Mainstream News Media, everything is running Honky Donkey

Ok, that's right we're in good shape. Sorry. It's just a pretty sunrise.
Obama has made everything better as long as we keep shopping, and don't stop to observe anything.

As crazy as it all is, we just gotta keep on keepin' on. We can rebuild the country, while the Government fights amongst themselves and blow each other up, or bankrupt each other. But, save the good guys, like Ron Paul.

t's like a 100 Mi Asteroid was going to hit the Earth.
At what point do you tell People, 100, 10 Million Miles or wait until it starts knocking at the front door, after all it won't make any difference because it's Innevitable what's going to happen next.

The Media only reports what the White House want them to print, and the White House is treating it the same as ELE.

This will happen with minimal resistance.

The entire World of Warcraft (MMORPG) community bitched and moaned about the real identification implementation for about a day and then just blindly accepted it being the lifeless junkies they are. Internet users will be just as accepting.

This isn't an exciting tale about whether we're going to win or lose. It's a tale of our loss. Everybody talks but nowhere near enough are willing to act. We deserve it. Every last second of tyranny, we deserve it.

I actually like the idea..here's why.

I'm tired of all the scams, viruses and spam on the internet.I think the idea will help get rid of all these things.

And if you're worried about "privacy" on the net...did you really think you had any in the first place?

I have a friend who has been on the net for a year. She pointed out the that there is a website where people can enter e-mail addresses and get people's addresses. There may be several. She then got mine. So why is there a need to get this internet ID?????

Because they want to know when YOU are online, regardless of where you access the internet from.

You may access the net from a computer or mobile device that is not yours, or through an IP that belongs to someone other than YOU.

What they want, is a method of identity authentication that will stay with YOU no matter where or HOW you access the internet.

I've read a lot of people saying "what's the need for having the internet?"

The element I would miss the most is having contact with like minded individuals from not just within the United States but around the world. Not having the ability to communicate with people regardless of how far away they are from you is pretty valuable to me.

Also obtaining the REAL news and not being forced to rely on MSM trash and propaganda is also pretty damn nice.

I'm not saying I agree with an Internet ID, I definitely DO NOT. I'm simply just stating the good facts about the internet.

So let me get this straight...an internet ID, initiated by the government. It is supposed to be an "option" that you don't have to have and (at least part of) its purpose is so we (the people) don't have to manage so many user names and passwords?

BULL CRAP!

The government is doing what the government (and in my opinion, this administration) has been doing for years. Protecting themselves and protecting their control of the people and the people's money (which they see as theirs). So...if the government is protecting their "interests" instead of the interests of the people...who is protecting us and our right to control ourselves and our money? Simple answer...no one. But who can or should be protecting us, our right to self-control and our money? Simple answer...us. And if the government isn't protecting us with THEIR military, THEIR laws, etc...then I guess the only option is for us to begin protecting ourselves with equal amounts and investments in supporting OUR interests. I guess we need a civilian military, I guess we need to fight IDs of (basically) any kind. I suppose that we need to become a community of ourselves, governed by ourselves...bartering, trading and working together...without the government. I think we have to choke them by depriving them of the "food" they require...taxes. I guess the government has become our adversary...not our ally. The people and the government are no longer one. The people stomach the government because they have the power we have given them...and we don't know how to take it back. Voting? Useless! It only appoints a new mid-level manager within the same opposition. Sure...they smile and lie, but in the end...they are the same.

I believe the best way to describe the situation...for lack of a better example...is cattle. We are being "farmed" and given the minimum we need to survive. It looks nice from the outside, but it is the ultimate level of control. We are told where to go, what to do, what to eat, what to (or not to) smoke...and now...we are being branded. Not by a hot metal rod with a logo, but with something extremely close. We are being marked as THEIR PROPERTY! That should piss everyone off!

And just like cows, they will milk us, they will control our children, they will decide who lives and dies, and they will do everything in their power to keep this control as the "farmers" or the "parents" of us little, ignorant beings. Until, of course, one-by-one we become useless to them. At the end of the day, they will return to their nice, warm houses and pat themselves on the back for doing a "good job", while we will huddle in the barn, trying to stay warm in the hay. Until tomorrow starts the whole process over again.

I guess I've, personally, been in a bad mood lately. I find my own posts sounding angry, fed-up and sounding like the "nut jobs" I used to smirk at. So which is it? Nut-job or enlightened? I guess that depends who you ask.

Don't give it to NSA or DHS give to the dept. of Commerce.

ModernAcademia, the structure is already in place to add a licensing system with the FCC, which belongs to the Dept. of Commerce, it's right here.

An additional licensing database could be added to "license" U.S. citizens to allow them to access the Internet with foreign nationals, illegal aliens, and politicians exempted, of course.

Apparently, our foreign born president has the executive authority over the FCC to compel them to enact such a regulation over the use of wire communications without the involvement of Congress. If we wish to use the Internet, we must purchase a license, get a unique ID, to be followed with the Veri-Chip chip implant already required by the obamacare law. 666 comes to mind.

Funding for this comes from a license fee, the structure of which is already in place, and this will do a nice and tidy job of keeping Congress from stopping it.

The means to transition us from free use of the Internet to licensed users will be to give all American citizens a deadline to fill out an online form, become licensed, pay the fee. Both ISPs and users will get penalized severely (to include prison time) for allowing an unlicensed user on the Internet (foreign nationals and politicians will be the only exemptions).

Again, you might want to keep in mind that the structure to transition us is already in place, all that is left is to write the regulations, set the deadline, and set the format on the FCC website. The FCC enforcement division will probably be expanded to prosecute individuals, ISPs, and upstream providers who violate the new regulation.

Bottom line, those who didn't vote for Barry Soetoro are screwed.

At risk of offending obama voters, Another Bystander puts all this into perspective

All of our freedoms will be officially flushed down the drain with this “Internet ID for Americans” ………… I knew this would come with the passing of “Net Neutrality”. Kiss your freedoms goodbye! We will be living in the U.S.S. of A.
This is complete TYRANNY !!

Quoting Zilla

How about we inflict this on the millions of foreigners here instead? No, they only want to strangle the liberty of AMERICANs here. Totalitarian >> censored

Unless you're bouncing your IP across the world on every continent in no particular order, they already know who you are. This is nothing but "official" IDs. But when I can find out who you are just with a phone number, or an IP address, you can bet your ass the government can when they are able to pressure ISPs for identities of their customers.

Instead of restricting the "medium," why not teach the people proper behavior and ethics with morality and purpose? You really don't want a rutted dirt road for a corvette, do you?

It's not the technology, it is the failure of keeping of the only laws Mankind was given. Why fix it if it isn't broken; focus on improving humanity first. Everything else is a waste of time and resources.

Truth probably is, that everyone already has an Internet ID.

They just need it to be official and in official writing.

The government doesn't release a single idea without testing it first... in secrecy, ofcourse.

The true illusion as that "we never saw it coming".

I think Obama = Bush + A Better Public Relations manager

The President of the United States has about as much power as the Queen of England. NONE. That's what people need to understand. He is a figurehead. Corporations run the country and have done so for some time. Until we outlaw corporations, nothing will ever change.
