You have to have empathy to be cruel.

You have to have consciousness to have empathy.

So, if you're willing to assign consciousness (and thus the capability not only to be cruel, but also to be kind) to lions, then all well and good, they're being cruel.

If you're just trying to raise the point that mother nature isn't all about pretty flowers and butterflies, wouldn't any of the thousands upon thousands of parasites have been a better illustration of this? There's nothing that a predator can do to an animal from the outside that is worse than the things that parasites and parasitoids can do from the inside.

Yeah, plus we humans do even worse things than any animal ever. I mean, they're carnivores, that's what they do, they eat each other.

Can't handle it, then remain surrounded by the bubble created by "civilized society"

What's the point? Anybody whose got the idea that Mother Nature is all warm and fluffy is in serious need of a biology lesson. Also, this isn't cold-blooded murder; this is a predator taking advantage of a situation so as to not starve.

I think the most disturbing thing about this video is the sound track......the people laughing and joking about what they are viewing....like evil little juvenile peep show watchers devoid of any empathy. I know, I know, this is reality in the animal kingdom...but their responses are simply inhumane....and I am being polite here if you get my drift.

Things always look prettier from afar, ever seen this planet from afar?... its beautiful, but alas things are more then they appear now aren't they, especially if you get a closer view. But I wouldn't insult her by calling her sick. She got's a very wicked sense of humor sometimes, as you might one day find out. Respect biatchezz, or you will regret it.
