Does America want to win and end the war in Afghanistan or are factions in America or within America interested in keeping the war going? Is there any evidence some factions in america want an endless war, so much so that they support the taliban and stoke the flames of hate in Afghanistan? Why would anybody want the war in Afghanistan not to end, if indeed there are forces at work who keep the war hot and want to keep it that way. What is their motive and who preciesly is involved?

Unfortunately war means money for the machine which is Corporate USA/World. If the goal was reaching hearts and
minds as stated they are certainly not achieving that.
With Opium production, untapped minerals and a possible gas pipe line the end is not nearly in site.
Afghanistan has been rife with war for decades.
With every innocent killed you make 10+ enemies. I would love for the UK troops to be pulled out, We have no place in the North American war.
What is really needed is less fighting, more education. Build their infrastructure back up, sustainable farming projects (not opium), use the troops and machinery to dig irrigation canals, build houses, hospitals, schools and hope the people can recover from all the suffering they have seen.
In an Ideal world 10 years and the Afgan people would be self sufficient , maybe even mining their minerals and having a part to play in the world.. Alas I feel that is not what the USA wants from this country... Only time will tell
Take Care , Regards

I think the troops should come home and I have for a couple of years now. TPTB seem to want it to keep going on and on just like the everready bunny. The USA along with all the coalition troops should have kicked their butts a long time ago. Why haven't they? Because they don't want to win right now. They want to be there as long as possible. I first thought that the oil and the poppy fields were something made up by conspiracy theorists, but now I realize the conspiracy theorists are probably right.

What can the normal person do though? My brother is there fighting for WHAT? For their agenda. Do they care that he might lose his life? Hell NO they don't care!! The only thing they care about is themselves and the money that lines their corrupt pockets. They don't give a damn about how many innocent lives are lost on either side....

The war will not end in the middle east for the USA, and neither will Canada be pulling out anytime soon. The USA needs to keep it`s foot in the door in the middle east so that it`s presence can continue to exercise it`s `super power` title. It needs to be in the middle east in order to be in every other nation`s business, and keep certain nations suppressed. If it were to pull out of Afghanistan it would be to far away for middle eastern Asian, or African counties to be worried about a threat of US intervention. Instead if it stays in place, and on guard it is close enough for combat if and when something larger breaks out.

Canada won`t be leaving either now because it has got a taste for corruption and blood now. Originally tagging along the US`s `War on Terrorism` just to make an appearance, and with no intension`s of staying, it is now it`s own staple in Afghanistan with it`s own bases and agenda. Canada now has the strongest economy in the world, and has trade deals with countries all over the world now thanks to the absence of US economic completion. It is spending twice as much on it`s military as it was 10 years ago when the war started, and continues to send troops oversea`s. With it`s new economic image I can only imagine greed has set in, and that is why Canada is now building and flexing it`s military and defense sector. Also it probably know`s it may not always be able to depend on the USA like it once thought. It`s about toe crumble any second.

You seem to forget you are on a conspiracy site....
Hmm of course must of slipped my mind that .....what was it?? Hmm 17 of the supposed hijackers on 911 were actually Saudi Arabian. Bin Laden was a CIA asset. FBI do not have enough evidence to add his connection to 911 on their most wanted list...Certainly a reason to invade a country..with out a doubt......(that is sarcasm by the way) There is so much not right with the 911 story. Just type 911 in search here to see.
As for 7/7 that was way after both invasions and has nothing to do with this subject. If you want a different view watch 7/7 ripple effect or mind the gap. Find on Google video or youtube. (sorry off topic)
The reason for terrorism is to create fear. I for one am not threated and will never be.
Any way take care. Do a bit of research into said subjects and see what you think.
Take care

On the money argument, I assume those are powers at the top level of the goverment. They print themselves all the dollars they need, I dont see a need for them to keep a phony war going to make money off of it. I get the argument that they do not want to leave Afghanistan. But they can have peace and a military base there. Is the political situation such that as soon as there would be peace in Afghanistan they do not have enough political muscle to keep a presence there, with major players pubicly demanding they pack up?

There is a component to the war in the Mid East that most choose to ignore. These wars are a continuation of the
"Crusades" this is a religious war.

The US has returned autonomy to Iraq, A withdrawal from Iraq to anything less than any "reactionary" force is imminent. Obama has realised that an immediate withdrawal from Afghanistan isn't practical, so they have opted for the "surge" method that was so successful to Iraq. Note the rehashing of top military command there, and all the controversy with it. Regardless of that, a timetable for withdrawal is set for Afghanistan as well. The US has just recently announced significant military budget cuts....
Despite all of this, you still have people with very funny misconceptions.

As for the gentleman who suggested that we should focus more on education, building roads, improving infrastructure and quality of life. That's brilliant really, I only wish the US military was funded enough, or experienced enough, to figure that out.
Oh wait, when we build schools, they get bombed precisely when schools let out. Girls get acid thrown in their face. NATO troops, overwhelmingly American I may add, die everyday trying to build roads while fighting off Taliban attack. This country has drove itself nearly bankrupt funding these wars, pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into these nations.
This falls on deaf ears, as our war for oil has given us our highest prices, and the Chinese buy up all the mineral rights in Afghanistan, even they we conquered it for our own sinister agenda.

There is a lot more to it than some mystical figure. There are industries and jobs set up to produce destruction. Not just a few people making a mountain of money while the rest of the economy suffers, but large parts of the whole economy involved in this. Lots of powerful people and companies. When it is said to follow the money, it lights up the network. If 9/11 was done by a few rouge elements they would have been busted by now, it is a whole ideology and community behind it. That is why it is so hard to make progress in confronting it, it is going to need a bigger community to stand up against it and say enough, naughty boy, now grow up or we take those toys of you and send you to your room.
