Hello, and may Peace be upon you all.

With the start of this new year.. with the cosmic alignment drawing near.. and with an assortment of personal factors.. I'm very much in need of a spiritual cleansing. With all of my knowledge and spiritual searching the last several years, it's definitely time to have a thorough cleaning and organizing of myself. A spiritual baptism... a ghusl for my soul... a defragmentation of my being... I really just feel like grabbing my soul and wringing it out with a good ol' fashioned hand washing. Not for any reasons immoral... I just feel spiritually dusty, cluttered, disorganized, and messy.

I have come to the understandings and conclusions about life and spirituality that feels comfortable, beneficial, and natural to me. A Path or a Religion I am not asking of you. As I lower my burden and refresh my spirit, please share with me basic principles, teachings, sayings, verses, parables, etc. about morality, upright character, honorable conduct of one's self and interaction with others, and the such. As I realign myself, I am seeking the most basic of principles. After all, it's great to wipe the slate clean and go through a refresher course of the basics when the time presents itself.

May you all have Peace. Thank you.

The best advice I can think of giving you right now is to follow your conscience. I don't know if planets are aligning right now, i'm no astrologist. But I do know that your conscience is always right. Like Jiminey Cricket said "Let your conscience be your guide". When you do right, you are right, thus you feel right. Also, love. Love everybody like they're yourself. And i'm not just saying that because it sounds like a good thing to say. If people just understood, everything is part of one thing. If you hurt me, you are hurting yourself. We are all part of one. It is the "golden rule".

I have a very minimal primitive religion. What gets me dusty is agreeing with precepts of other people's religion when I see they are true to the other person's religion. By saying it's true I really mean it is true for the other person. After a while these statements build up and gum up my own minimal religion. They don't actually fit. They're not actually consistent with my own faith.

What I do then is withdraw, quietly, without audience, examine each piece, admire it as true for someone else, then put it aside. While this process goes on, I do not speak to others about religion. It usually takes me about a month.

Here's the cool part. Sometimes I find a gem and feel that someday that gem will be true for me too. That's when I put it down with a sigh.
