The affiliated newspapers are still reporting on individual cables

The Guardian | El Pais | Le Monde | Der Spiegel

The Norwegian Newspaper are mainly releasing individual cables in hard format (minus government cable symbols) -- they are NOT affiliated with Wikileaks

Several other newspapers around the world were given cables associated with their own country

wikiriver.org (website designed by Dave Winer) is a fantastic resource to check out - google it

wl central is another fantastic resource to check out - google it

Greg Mitchell from The Nation continues to write a daily blog on individual cables as they come out - google it

New York Times did at one point do their own daily blog on the cables (by corporate media american standards) mainly concentrating on Pakistan, north/south Korea, Iran, Iraq, Afghanstan (US Miltary Foregin Policy) < surprise surprise >

Glen Greenwald from The Salon - has been another fantastic resource

(NB: Glen Greenwald originally broke the story on Bradley Mannings Conditions, newspapers after that cut and pasted from his article and set up interviews) It was Glen who broke the story on that FIRST)

To the Spoon Fed Mentality on this Forum:

Corporate Media TV Networks outlets attached to the establishment/government are not interested in reporting on the individual cables on a daily bases

The cables have NOT stopped (they did for a couple of days over the christmas/new year though) being reported on by the newspapers listed above

Julian Assange has signed a book deal, I dont know about you, but if it was me, with a book contract on the go with a possible launch date organised, aswell as a court case coming up in January... I would be allocating more time and effort to sit down and write

Julian Assange is NOT and has NOT written articles reporting on; individual cables, Afghan and Iraq War Logs Journalists associated with those newspapers do that

Wikileaks.org website uploads individual cables only after affiliated newspapers release a report on them

The fact that he is writing a book says he will have some agreement with his publisher not to release too much so that it can be included in his book - hence this will encourage huge sales. You know how it goes - YOU SAVE THE BEST TILL LAST.

Maybe

HOWEVER ...These newspapers have THE 250,000 cables!

If anything the newspapers could very well NOT be releasing "stuff" (well names anyways lol)

Did you expect to see all 250,000 cables reported on in newspapers within a matter of a week or two? lol

Julian does NOT dictate what cables should be reported on and what cables shouldnt be reported on
Newspaper Editors do that!

Do you honestly think that Julian and his Wikileaks Team have read all 250,000 cables already?
(4 full time staff on the payroll - up to 20 part timers not always on the payroll)

When would they have time to do that?
Especially when they were in the middle of putting together the Afghan and Iraq War Logs with the newspapers late last year!

Wikileaks Team have been working with Independent Journalists from the Bureau of Investigative Journalists in the UK and a few others and experts, pouring over all these documents

Do you know the process?

[There is an interview with James Ball (who worked full time on the Afghan and Iraq War Logs, or maybe just one of the War Logs) an indedpendentfreelancer journalists, often described himself as a data/analyst journalist... I believe he was associated (maybe still is) with the Bureau of Investigative Journalists in the UK... he may be on the Wikirebels Ddocumentary aswell... (I know others are) ... I've heard James on radio podcasts available outside the UK .. talking about his experience]

Not an easy task pouring over all those documents, can you imagine it?

Can you imagine having to pour over all these documents which are written with government jargon/symbols (that most main stream citizens are clueless on) and then make sense of it, then look for background information/investigation, and look for corresponding articles in the past and government press releases?

TIME CONSUMING!!!
