An article "Assassin or hero? Pakistan's great divide over killer of governor":

www.cnn.com...

magine this: One of the top politicians of your country is gunned down by his own bodyguard. Shocking, but not unheard of.

Now imagine this: The very next day, the assassin shows up at court and is given a hero's welcome. Supporters shower him with rose petals and put a garland around his neck.

My reaction is that I want nothing to do with Pakistan in any shape, form or modality. Withdraw from the region and increase the drone fleet tenfold, taking out targets as they come. Arm India to teeth. Stir and salt to taste.

The country is beyond hope. Craziness on massive scale.

Sounds like what should be happening here in the USA. No?

My take on it is that this assassination was based more on corruption than religion. It looks as though it has helped the Pakistani government stay together when confronting these issues. www.abovetopsecret.com...

For me this guy is an assassin or to put it better a terrorist, the apparent paradox CNN have observed of Pakistanis appearing to hate the guy and love him at the same time comes down to that old saying. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

America really does need Pakistan the relationship is interdependent just now America needs peace in the Middle East for a whole range of reasons form economic to national security and Pakistan is a big player in the Middle East. If America were to start arming and supporting India after turning its back on Pakistan it would cause some massive problems and could eventually lead to war and attacks on Americans all over the world. I could go as far to say that it would cause a massive war in the Middle East and with America’s involvement possibly even WWIII. The last thing you want to be seen doing is turning two Nuclear powers who already have very volatile relations against each other.
