I stumbled upon this little video that Monsanto put out way back in the sixties. It is promoting a house set in the future year of 1986! Here is the Wiki for it:

en.wikipedia.org...

It was sponsored by Monsanto Company. The design and engineering of the house was done jointly by Monsanto, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Walt Disney Imagineering. The fiberglass components of the house were manufactured by Winner Manufacturing Company in Trenton, New Jersey, and was assembled into the house on-site.

The attraction offered a tour of a home of the future, set in the year 1986, and featured household appliances such as microwave ovens, which eventually became commonplace. The house saw over 435,000 visitors within the first six weeks of opening, and ultimately saw over 20 million visitors before being closed.

The video begins with:

Monsanto Chemical Company, Plastics Division. And, this is a story of plastics. I myself believe this is really an interactive commercial for plastics, or, an easy way to indoctrinate folks to the beauties of PLASTIC, by integrating it with Disney.

So, what does the following video prove? I don't know, but the connection between Disney and Monsanto is not one I have heard mentioned before. I know we have some great sleuths here at ats, who knows what we can dig up on this company?

Part One.

Part 2:

Please give yourself 12 minutes to watch this slice of vintage Monsanto and Disney Collabrative Propaganda. It works, because I really want to live in this very cool house!! Also, look at the luxury lifestyle our house wife (or, paying Disney parent touring the model home) enjoys thanks to Monsanto Chemical Division. (hasn't melamine been proven harmful?)

Enjoy this delicious and possibly disturbing, slice of yesterday.

Interesting. Disney Purchased by....Monsanto

In a surprise move that was announced today, biotech giant Monsanto completed a hostile takeover of troubled Walt Disney Company for a sum of $60bn.

In recent months, many rumors were floated concerning the future of the stumbling Disney empire. Companies mentioned to have an interest were as diverse as Comcast, Microsoft and Bertelsmann. Yet few analysts suspected a crop company like Monsanto to step in. "We double-checked the press release three times before believing it," said an analyst.

The price tag is considerably cheaper than Comcast's offer of $66bn six weeks ago, but Disney's leadership problems that ousted long-time CEO Eisner and the recent breakup with money-maker Pixar sent the stock price tumbling almost 20%. "It was a steal," said a Monsanto spokesperson.

This buys Monsanto a number of television studios, including ABC and ESPN, movie studios like Touchstone and Miramax, and of course the popular theme parks in the US, France and Japan.

Monsanto is not a household name to Disney employees and customers, firmly rooted in its business of crop engineering. Monsanto is best known for its "Roundup Ready" canola and soybean seeds, which is genetically modified to tolerate their own "Roundup" herbicide.

"It's about intellectual property," said Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant, when questioned about the motives. "Both Disney and Monsanto are committed to IP, but their experience in protecting and exploiting IP is unsurpassed, especially in their animation department."

Well, that is interesting.

And, another page about Monsanto. (may be a hoax, or prank, I think I may have gotten fooled)

Here

Monsanto was the creator of several attractions in Disney's Tommorrowland [9]. Often they revolved around the the virtues of chemicals and plastics. Their "House of the Future" was constructed entirely of plastic, but biodegradable it was not.

"After attracting a total of 20 million visitors from 1957 to 1967, Disney finally tore the house down, but discovered it would not go down without a fight. According to Monsanto Magazine, wrecking balls literally bounced off the glass-fiber, reinforced polyester material. Torches, jackhammers, chain saws and shovels did not work. Finally, choker cables were used to squeeze off parts of the house bit by bit to be trucked away." [10]. However another of their synthetic inventions, Astroturf (fake grass), survives.

How interesting. Disneyland is basically been used for decades as Monsantos own private advertising powerhouse! Think of how many children you know in your life. Now think, how many live a life devoid of all disney products? How many kids do not know any Disney characters?

Yes, we willingly allowed ourselves to be poisoned. Look at how many millions of Americans have spent their money at Disneyland, ate their food, rode their plastic rides, etc. By watching these vintage propaganda piece, at least we can see how it happened.

How it happened? How about: how it is *still* happening. Corporations (and governments) at a higher level seem to have this dogma of F the consumer; grab their wallet as they lay dying.

Someone should make a thread collecting all the bits of info possible on Monsanto. I had no idea they were THIS powerful and would like to know just how powerful they really are and what does that mean for the world.

The above article does not link Monsanto and Disney, but does show they both used the same security company, the one named Blackwater.

One more link, called Adventure through Innerspace, again at Disney for over twenty years.

www.yesterland.com...

Adventure Thru Inner Space opened in Disneyland in 1967 as part of the New Tomorrowland project. It occupied the space that previously housed the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea walk-through and the Monsanto Hall of Chemistry. It closed in 1986. The space is now occupied by Star Tours.

Well...you found that "attraction" (ride) from the original TomorrowLand, in the original DisneyLand theme park.

Guess you weren't lucky enough ( not old enough??
) to have experienced it first-hand? I did...several times.

It was a blatant (I see now..of course, as a kid, it was just a boring "ride") advertisement for Monsanto....part of the theme of TomorrowLand of course.

[Even at eight years old, I knew, deep down, it was cheesy. Not the tasty kind of cheese, either. It pretended to "shrink" you, but not even as cleverly as, say...in the film "Fantastic Voyage". On line, waiting to get in (I think it was a "C" ticket....mid-level blah!) were these corny little models of the tram you were about to sit in.....they'd be exiting this contraption YOU were about to be conveyor-belted through....with miniature "people"....fooled no one, especially with the VERY HARD LEFT TURN as soon as you entered the "contraption"!! LOL! Maybe very small children, were convinced.....that you were actually "shrunk"].

Of course, around this same time a (much more entertaining) attraction was the "Carousel of Progress", sponsored by GE. Hang on, the theme song is on the tip of my memory circuits....

Found it!!! (And now I inflict it on you.....):

Of course, I remember the voices being different for the audioanimatronics.....this bootleg video is, I think from Epcot Orlando.....a 20+ minute commercial to entice you to buy more GE appliances for the home.....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BTW, tragic news....the old Carousel in Anaheim killed at least one person, that I know of...a Disney "cast member" tried to jump between stages, while it was rotating...didn't make it in time.......
Back to your topic...did you see this??:
"Miracles From Molecules"
It should make people stop and think when Disney turns out to be nothing but a giant ad agency!! No I dont recall these attractions at Disney, my parents took us to FL Disney. like in the eighties, and I barelt recall the trip at all. Weirdly, the one memory I have is of an Indian lady with a long dress on. She was reaching up in a gift shop I was in, and she had a full bush under her arm, full of deoderant flakes!! Tats what I remember of that trip, lol!
All the money people drop at the park, so they are willingly paying to be programmed to buy and love these big business products! Even if they ultimately kill us (Monsanto!)reply to post by weedwhacker
...you know, I grew up on Disney, unfortunately. Who knows in what wild ways I was programmed as a kid, and what things are still with me as an adult. I remember that the first few times I heard anyone say anything negative about Disney (the empire, not the man), I immediately thought the person was a liar or mistaken. How could Disney do anything evil? No. Not Annette Funacelo!
As far as the plastics in that home...ha, dream about how swell it would be back in the '60s... Now in the 2010s kick yourself for letting yourself get poisoned with synthetic estrogen through all those glorious, futuristicky plastic cups and plates and waterpipes and sheets and chairs and flooring.
Two questions about the house that I have, though:
1. In the three tiered category of refrigeration, what exactly today would be the "irradiated" foods??? Oh MY GOD. Monsanto was irradiating fruits and veggies in the 60s?????!?!??!?!?!?!!? I mean, do we really need to scratch our head on the cancer rates?
2. So, the dishwasher stores all your plates? What do you do if you have one or two dirty dishes? Wash the whole set over again? Seems wasteful to me.
Good point! I never thought of what might happen if you only had one or two dirty. Maybe they clean them another futuristic way.
