The artical reads, that the United States want the UN sanctions to be imposed on the leaders of the militia if they do not stop the attacks on the
civilians in the region of Darfur.
This civil-war has been going on for 16 months, with 10,000-30,000 people dead and a million in refugee camps with very little food, water, shelter or
medicine. The Africa focus groups and human rights have said that the United States and other Gov'ts are moving to slow on helping these people that
are being terrorized with plundering, killings, burnings and rapings.
These people need help and fast!
Even in a world distracted by the war in Iraq, the obscure violence of Darfur has in recent days forced itself onto the agendas of the Bush
administration and the United Nations. Secretary of State Colin Powell and UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan crossed paths in visits to Sudan last week,
each providing his institution's first top-level focus on the crisis, which UN officials have called the world's worst current humanitarian
crisis.
