To me this has always been one of the saddest songs because it has theme of such loneliness. For only two verses, it says quite a lot.

Even sadder is the fact in this day and age, Gerry probably would not be a recognized as he was back then. He doesn't have hair quite a pretty as Justin Beiber, and I don't thibk that he would wear a meat suit to any award show.

I miss those days....I did not even know that he had passed away. RIP Gerry.
