I'm not.
There are plenty of "other sites" where "that kind" of material is permitted online other than this one. Their Terms and Conditions allow that kind of material this site does not! [You agreed to this sites Terms and Conditions] You just violated them. Besides, outside of the narrowest and twisted of possibilities the last image you posted could be considered PORN in some twisted messed up way. The others were just raw shock images of corpses.

Eh? Let me tell you, China is all porn all the time. It's just that, here in China, the Government sanctioned version of porn is: Violence.

Seven days a week, from dusk to dawn, on every television channel...blood, blood, blood, and more blood. It's 8:30 in the morning, and look! More slo-mo machine gun fire! Blood cascading out of that guys eye! Look at the villiage girl get bayoneted!

It's the Chinese Vs. the Japanese and the Japanese Vs. the Chinese. Endlessly.

The Chinese (television-wise) are living in the past. And it's a blood-soaked orgy-of-death past. All day every day.

But will you find any form of nudity in TV dramas, any sex, passion, passionate love? Surely you jest.

And, so, we can see what's going on when a government represses a socities "sexuality" or "sexual self-awareness" if you will, and keeps the focus on pain and more pain and suffering and death...

Ah, it's a story of control as old as...Adam and Eve.

There are a lot of crazy laws around the world, and banning pornography is not one of them. Receiving jail sentence for spreading pornography which kids might easily have access to is not one of them.

Worse, pornography effects the fabric of society (family). Not good at all, it needs to be taken seriously, just like adultery.

Here is a little story for you. My sister bought her son a laptop so he could do his school stuff. He was 13 at the time. He spent alot of time on his laptop and mostly in his room. Anyways, i started to wonder what he might be looking at, so when he was not there, i checked his laptop internet history. I was horrified how much porn he was looking at. All of them were free porn sites,

And this is the worrying thing about porn on the internent, and the reason why so many children become porn addicts. When i was a kid, we did not have access to any of this stuff. Yeah, sometimes me and my mates would come across a porn mag that someone chucked away, but thats it!

I don't think many people realise the dangers of internet porn. Its not just children who suffer. Adults do too, and marraiges have failed because of internet porn addiction. I know that we can't just ban porn from the internet, but i feel they should ban free porn sites, just for the fact that so many children can access them.

Meaning what is the Chinese government trying to do by showing blood and violence all the time?

It's happening all over.Governments are tightening their grips on porn sites.

Think it's mostly due to child porn,sex slavery and whatever else is seen as illegal.

I'm sure there is a way to bypass this by using IP addresses from other countries so you can view content that would be otherwise restricted in your own country.

There has always been a market for sex and I'm sure it will stay that way.And as long as there is a market there will always be individuals willing to go to any lengths to exploit it.It's kinda useless trying to shut them all down.People will just find another rout or an alternative.

Stupid China.

This is why I am glad we no longer live under a Marxist left wing government, sorry but a womans place is in the kitchen or topless in a magazine.

Why is anyone shocked at this news? It amazes me that so many sing the praises of China..then seem suprised when something like this happens...China is a Communist nation! They wrap themselves in a little capitalism, a little good will, and little technology...and the world is amazed.

Truth is, freedoms there are just for show. I have met, know, and my wife works with people...refugeess from China. They poison, imprison, and persecute their people...in the worst way. People in the west condemn medical testing on animals..in China they use people. They imprison people for religious beliefs and faith...they persecute anyone that shows independent thought...the State is the master.

I am no fan of porn or questionable erotica....but I don't believe peoples thoughts or expression should be infringed upon. One man's trash is another man's treasure...same with porn. When you start down that slippery slope...where does it end.

Hi there, RedGolem.

Sorting out the mystery that is China is a tall order, way beyond the limited computing functions of univac500.

Still, I have a few armchair opinions - since my armchair happens to be situated in beautiful Beijing.

First - in Beijing at least - and I suspect in all the other thousands of developed areas in China, there is A LOT of television choice. I have a basic, and very inexpensive, cable service and I get 60 or so different channels.Friends of mine have a different service, and about 200+ channels pour into their home.

China has Movie channels, Adventure channels, Cooking channels, Sports channels, Chinese Chess channels...you name it.

That means, flipping around the dial, you can find almost anything from an American movie to inane Chinese pop-music shows...however, what you are most likely to encounter is violence, sorrow, and a general palate of misery.

Some of the forms these (endless) TV shows take:

The Chinese/Japanese 'War Drama'...

The PLA Vs The 'Taiwan' Nationalists 'War Drama'...

The 'Police' Drama...

Now, read the following very carefully.


The TV is on in my house now. It happens to be tuned to channel 39 from JiangXi, a province in the south of China. It is 10:50 in the morning. There is some '1940's' period piece playing. Now, as I was typing the above paragraph a character in the TV show...packing heat in BOTH hands, no less! (WWII 45 Automatics)...walked down a street and shot and killed about 12 people. I kid you not.

Keep in mind what I just described to you wasn't the wacky violence of some nutty 1970's Hong Kong Kung Fu film.

This guy just walked down a street, in broad daylight, and massacred a dozen people - blood splattering everywhere. It's 10:50 in the morning.


So, what's up Doc, you ask?


1) I think the Chinese Government, for whatever reason, makes it so China's good citizens can never ever, ever, ever forget what the Japanese 'did'.


(I can walk up to anyone, anywhere, say a child of 13, and quip: "Hey, what do you think of the Japanese?" And immediately said child's eyes will turn to burning coals of fury as he or she lets loose: "I haaate them!" All right, child, have a nice life.)


2) I think all the violence and open bloodshed on TV is there to desensitize the good citizen's of China...making violence and death and loss...seem normal...or maybe even inevitable. (As in...future wars.)

3) Now, about the obvious dearth of sex, passion, any type of nudity, and just plain healthy, loving human relationships...Hmmm?


It could be that the Chinese are just a more reserved, sometimes shy people. But, I'm telling you, when it comes to the topic of sex, an unbelievable percentage of young adults aren't reserved, aren't shy...they are damned naive.


And, of course, if you are ignorant of your own needs, desires, your inalienable rights to pursue what ever joys you wish...well, what kind of life does usually lead to? It's all about control.


It's funny, in China, they are more than happy to show how people exit life: death, carnage, and more death! But they never like to show how people enter life:sex.


4) But, all in all, I think it comes down to this: All the lame propaganda that is spewed out of the hundreds and hundreds of millions of television sets across the country day after day...all the sorrow, all the violence, all the cheesy rehashing of the China's dark days; it's all there for one reason: "Look how bad things were! THINK about how good you have it." Or, more exactly: "We will bombard you with these endless sorrows so that you are constantly THINKING about the past and never THINKING about the present."


Well, those are a few of my theories. I don't know what merit they may have. Perhaps I have no idea what I am talking about. After all, right now on CCTV 6 they are showing Babe: Pig In The City.

If I were given a choice I would opt for the sex over the blood and violence. I am not saying I don't like the violent or action pact shows or movies. I just think the shows full of the sexual situations would influence the society in less harmful ways then the violence would. That is if you do think tv does its job of influence.

I strongly disagree. There is absolutely nothing wrong or immoral about pornography, nor does it negatively affects families. Laws against pornography are ridiculous, based on absurd fear-mongering and twisted so-called "morals" that have nothing in common with true morality. It is an obsolete mindset that was born in time when blacks were subhuman and blasphemers were stoned, and has no place in 21st century modern society.
