World population increased by nearly a BILLION people in this last decade!

Technology usage and developments have literally snowballed exponentially.

Natural disaster fatalities have increased at an unbelievable rate.

In 10 short years, the world has changed beyond anything imaginable. I'm still in shock that these years have passed by as fast as they have and 2010 is already over.

It makes me wonder just where the "peak" will be on all of these statistics and just how good/bad things can get in 2011 and beyond.

I found it interesting that the movie industry has increased its profits by $3 billion even though ticket sales fell by 100 million. IMAX and 3D and AVX films are very expensive to watch but it seems that even those enhanced theatre experiences aren't enough to turn around the evident decay in Hollywood's market.

This is what I have seen that has changed since 2000:
gas prices have more than doubled from $1.15/gallon to almost $3/gallon now.
There is a new war on terror where we have lost some of our freedoms
A one bedroom apartment used to cost around $400 per month and now the average is $600 per month. (in Kansas City).
Electricity costs 18% more.
Food prices have tripled.
There is a war on between big business and the customer. Instead of businesses trying to help the customer they argue with them.
Everyone is seen as a potential terrorist.
The green movement has taken over to the point of making it harder on the poor
There is more but society is always changing but why can't it be for the good not the bad?
I know when slavery ended and women got the right to vote that was postive it just seems we are going backwards in our society. (not technology).

I'm going to focus on only two variables:

Population increase over last decade & increase in natural disasters from 2000-2010

Population increased 14.2% !!

Deaths from natural disasters increased 1529% !!

If we take these same rates of increase and apply them to the following 3 decades, here is the rough results:
