The over-all AVERAGE increase in GLOBAL (the "G" in GW) temperature results in an overall CLIMATE CHANGE.

It will ALWAYS be cold at the poles...and seasonal variations will still occur. But, localized influences, historical weather patterns, all of those are subject to great change and disruptions.

In completely unpredictable ways. The very process of Climate Change is still uncertain...it may be self-correcting....it may contain a "tipping point" that results in an accelerated runaway. It is only a certainty that it is a gradual process. As in, not a "switch" being flipped.

Studies (Arctic and Antarctic ice core samples, for instance), and many other indications, show solid evidence of considerable changes in the Earth's climate, going back for hundreds of thousands, millions of years.

SO.....the Earth climate DOES undergo fluctuations. With complex interactions involved, and with complex results....species extinction, sea level changes, entire ecosystems in areas being altered....

The "extinctions", though, seemed to mostly be affecting the sorts of species who were heavily dependent on their niche environmental conditions, and they could not adapt adequately. Humans, of course, use technology nowadays, in order to "adapt". Unique of all lifeforms on planet, of course. So, Humans, as a species, are not threatened.....the stability of what was recent history, and familiar is (possibly) subject to great changes in the next few generations of Humans....or, perhaps not. Could tend to very localized areas, and not become extremely widespread. Or, could be much worse than anyone predicts....

Either way, it's a matter of some discomfort, loss of life, re-adjustment to changes....or MAJOR discomfort, loss of life, re-adjustment to changes....still, with six billion+ alive currently? Plenty of DNA floating about anyhow. And, populations continue to ....ermmm....reproduce.

Quite entertaining! I remember years ago going to bed with 60 degree weather and waking up to 3 feet of snow. Couldn't even get the door open, had to climb out a window and move the snow away from the door. The dog had to go!
