There's one thing that has always bothered me about people in this country. If you mention a horror story about someone "cheating" social services (which IMHO, is not as easy to do as people think), people recoil in horror or perhaps they boil with hatred.

But (and a big emphasis on this word), if you mention tax cuts for the rich, the American people say:

"Well, if we cut taxes for the rich (which can include some business owners/CEOs), then companies will create jobs for us!"

Isn't that a form of corporate welfare?

What about bank bailouts? Do people complain enough about those?

What about the bailout of the auto industry?

Sure, there are people who will complain about bailouts but when it comes to "bailing out" poor and less fortunate people?

"They're a bunch of scummy freeloaders! Take away their money, force them to work or give them drug tests!"

Is this a form of social conditioning? How does it benefit our society?

One is breaking the law and one isn't.

I say people who support a tax cut for only one social group are just as bad as people who support a tax hike for only one social group.
