Sunspots reaching 1,000-year high

A new analysis shows that the Sun is more active now than it has been at anytime in the previous 1,000 years.

Scientists based at the Institute for Astronomy in Zurich used ice cores from Greenland to construct a picture of our star's activity in the past.

They say that over the last century the number of sunspots rose at the same time that the Earth's climate became steadily warmer.

This trend is being amplified by gases from fossil fuel burning, they argue.

Is the Earth going to warm up in the near future even if Global Warming and The Greenhouse effect are stopped?

More sun spots because of the greenhouse effect on our planet?
It's sounds to me that they have no clue at all about what's going on.

Perhaps there is a sunspot cycle that has not been discovered yet, besides the already known 10- to 12-year sunspot cycle

I think they mean the temperature rise on Earth is down to this and greenhouse effect

I realy liked the graph it clearly indicates a steady increase in the solar activiety over the last 3 or four centuries ' to bad we dont have some a history of climate change we can relate to these solar cycles or are there?

Any one catch the pbs show on the earths magnetic feild? They researched old clay pots and lava flows to find that at one point in time the earths polarity flipped! And when it flipped it did it in about half a day. Also they went on to mention we would be very vurnerable to solar flaires the next time it happened.
