When you start a new thread, people that like it will give you flags to show their appreciation of the thread.

Individual posts get stars for the same reason.

I'd love to explain that system to you (not)!

It is very complicated and apparently uses algorithms in calculating the various different points and categories.

Look in the Board Questions forum, there are threads that explain it. Good luck.

Your points are accumulated over your time here from different interactions. Sometimes you may get points for making different post that some mods. feel deserve recognition or applause. After you build up so many points you can make small purchases with your points within the ATS store to modify your avatar and signature.
