Today a little before 5p I saw two very low flying planes. They looked like they might be some kind of military planes. They were a solid army green with the number 999 on the side. I know nothing about planes but these looked like they might be an older type of plane. Just wondering what they were and why they were flying over our little town in Texas.

An airshow in your general vicinity perhaps?

It was similar to this... www.military-aircraft.org.uk... but where it has US Air force on it it had 999 and that was the only markings on it. There is definitely NO airshow anywhere close to where I live. This is a little bitty town that doesn't even have a city government.

No. It wasn't anything like that. I posted a link to a plane that I found online that was the closest resemblance.

The 999 was placed similar to this plane but the numbers were in black.

More or less what you are describing is a common cargo plane, the workforce of the military. These planes were sold to Mexico as well, and could have originated from there. As far as the numbers go, it's anyone's guess though I have flown in and jumped from those planes and never seen anything like that before. If it was like the plane you displayed in the picture it was a C-17. If it seemed 'older' by having propellers, it was a C-130.
