YEONPYEONG ISLAND, South Korea — South Korea's military waited for better weather to hold live-fire drills that the North warned would cause it to retaliate, but the high tensions prompted the U.N. It's their island they can do what they want when they want! I sure people here would be outraged if their next door neighbor said you cannot turn your lights on at night or your going to "get it". They can do what they want on their own property!. Whether they are the moral owners or not does not matter. They are in legal possession. NK should stay out of their business!
The North does not recognize the sea border between the two countries, known as the Northern Limit Line, which was drawn up by the United Nations at the end of the 1950-53 Korean War.
