i feel having a belief is by no means a bad thing. but unfortunatly typical human responces seem to take over. competition kicks in at every level in
human nature to be the best, biggest weathiest etc, religeon is no different, i ask you this those who "serve the lord or allah who ever you beleive
in" isnt trying to be the greatest servant not an act of greed itself ? . The reward would be the knowledge that you are the greatest supporter that
you are worthy and others are less worthy. Is this not a form of greed.
to aspire to be more than everyone around you is nature, survival of the fitest. Twisted by human phycology into some bizzare fashion where every walk
of life is a competition one way or another. religeon is no different, if another idea comes along, a more credible one that seeks to destroy the
basis of your own you fight against it, deny the truth, create stories to discredit it, every tactic under the sun.
I see the religeous "ufoers" community typifiying this point, fearmongery of the aliens being children of satan etc. without any tangable proof.
those without a strong belief can more easily transition between ideas and theories when they arise, the trouble is with those who are entrenched in
their ways, instead of changing their beleifs in light of new evidence they prefere to seek to destroy or deny said evidence. how is this progress.
truly beleiving blindly in things leads to wars, conflicts, a regressive culture.
