Very haunted old building; a truck load of EVPs

My group has a year to investigate this place. It is insane...literally. It was a mental health out patient facility for a couple of decades as well. There have been three suicides, a triple murder and other deaths. It's build out a stone with high crystal content and has an under ground stream under it. I went last weekend for the first time, and during the day at that. I didn't think I caught much, but I've been hopping with EVPs. The majority are distant and so very frustrating, but I caught a few gems so far.

The first one is very clear, there was no one outside.

The second is a direct reply to being asked to repeat a noise.

This one I had asked if they wanted their stories told, I hear the "Me and" part the last one I think is Rebecca, because she is a known entity.

This one is long, you hear a slow voice say "Oh them again, and he continues to talk as we pass through the lobby, and at the end it sounds like 'wonderful box.'

This one is in the lobby, I left it and we went into another room to do more evp work. I thought since they were being coy I might catch something in an empty room. Seems they were on to me, though.

heya pretty cool evps i wish you and your team the best of luck in your endeavors i know im no expert in the field i used to go around all oer ohio into places and do the same before i had children one method i used though that might help is rigging a taser [ten thousand volt]with tape and leaving it on a couple of hours before efvps and all night exploring, best results i got were at a old murder scene in ohio and the big four bridge in sidney ohio i have always heard of charging ghosts with energy or they drain batteries at times now i dont know about that but i think it gets them interested at what youre doing best of luck again take care

WHat software do you use to clean up the EVPS? Do yu have accompanying video footage to the evps? it great to have visual context to look at when you get a EVP.

Not to seem too arrogant or oblivious but what does EVP stand for?? I'm guessing their sounds a ghost or something would make? I listened to the links and thats what it seemed like. Sorry if I'm a little behind on the topic just very curious is all.

Zazz, I simply use the audicity program to find the EVPs. These are actually not cleaned up at all, this is how they sounded. I have about a dozen that are weaker or not as clear, these were the best so far. No video, I did snap a few pics but nothing paranormal in them. We do plan on setting up the cameras next month, there was a lot of clutter this time and our leader was afraid it wouldn't be safe.

Tech, never apologize or worry about asking about what you don't know, that's what forums are for. EVP stands for Electronic voice phenom. We heard none of these voices when we recorded, they are picked up by the recorders that are more sensitive to the frequency the voices are speaking in. Though many find that if they have recorders that play back what is recorded as it happened they can pick up the voices sometimes. I've spoken with a lady in another paranormal group in my area that has said that she has been on investigations with people with hearing aids and they seem to hear the EVPs live, too.

If we had heard the voices there and there was no logical source for them then it would be disembodied voices.

Wow fascinating! thanks for clearing things up for me. Some of those recordings seemed to definitely present voices, from what I can hear. If I might ask where is this place located, or a general area? If you want to keep it private though I understand, and good luck with your researching!

I ll see what i can do to clean up the evps for you, drown out the background noice, also just so you know, sometimes they record at different speeds, so you have to speed up or slow down..

Here is a great one I caught going through more of the audio of the place. Our lead investigator was tell about the building, I reply yeah, and then you hear another voice say something that ends in 'really special'
