With the christmas season upon us joy, love and Chrsitmas jubilation seem to follow us everytime we leave the house, and in some cases even in our own homes, in the form of music.

But what of the lesser heard songs of Christmas sorrow? Sure, they (apparently) have no comercial appeal at all. They can range from touching to absurd. So what songs of Christmas dysfunction do you wish to share?
I'll get the Christmas party started......

Weird Al - Christmas at ground zero

(You tube has disabled the embed feature for this video)
An example of the absurd, yet distastefully amusing, I played this song every Christmas as a teen.

How to make Gravy - Paul Kelly
Depressing Christmas ballad from the point of view of a prison inmate missing his family and wondering who will make the gravy for Christmas lunch

Everclear I will be hating you for Christmas, that is all you need to know

Any more?

Chipmunks roasting on an open fire by Bob Rivers. It's not so much depressing, but it is definitely dysfunctional. Oh, and the ever popular "Deck the Halls with Gasoline". Although I wouldn't advise singing it these days; they'd probably put you in prison for threats.

An interesting perspective - colors one's view of this song - dysfunctional, maybe? Lol

Dude, I never realized it before, but the video seems to imply that Grandpa and Cousin Mel conspired to kill Grandma. Notice that he wasn't around when she "staggered out the door into the snow" and then later he is celebrating with cousin Mel. Then what tops it all off is when Mel puts a Santa hat on Grandpa and she stands beside him in the last shot. Looks like maybe Mel was after Grandpa!

That is so depressing!
Perhaps it was supposed to be uplifting because in the end the boy got his shoes but i kept thinking, but what about all the times this happens and there is no man in the line to pay for the shoes.
