NEWS: California peace gathering marred by violence

The Rainbows claims to have no organizational structure, no members, or leaders, has been doing this for 30 years. This year, one peace activist beat another with a shovel for driving too fast.



The Rainbows discourage the use of alcohol and consider themselves to be a native tribe of sorts. A claim to which, I'm sure, local Indians will have a reaction; especially since they have complained about the Rainbows destroying Indian artifacts. California, what's that joke about nuts and flakes?

The problem with the Rainbows is that there was an Indian prophecy a while ago that the Sons and Daughters of those in the 60s would be the only survivors of the Earth when the man destoryed the world. Then, they would reformulate their world in their image of peace and so forth.

The problem is, now everyone wants to be a Rainbow. They have an inherent problem like the Jehovah's witnesses in that not all of them would make it when and if something did happen.

But the Indians basically started these people off and Rainbows generally tend to strive for good, but there are some bad apples. They are a fairly big gathering of people though.
