There are many middle class men in "college" being supported by their parents there! Here in New Zealand it's the same.

Turned out sadly, that she was not from a struggling poor but honest family, but an upper middle class girl from a frankly wealthy background, and resented bitterly, the idea of equality - hated like poison, not being able to sneer at the poor any more.
As for fleeing, making her fortune without any help - she left with the greatest of ease, to go and sponge off a large family in, I think, Chicago...
But all the oppression and torment made a very good story!

If the education market is free, universities, though the prices are higher, still have to compete for the lowest prices. On the other hand if the market is not free, or if private educational institutes are blocked from entry into the market, students just have to deal with higher prices, or force the people not going to college to subsidize them.

Hey, we used to have a system like the one you're denigrating (until neo-lib economics took over in the 90s, and now huge student fees are putting education out of the reach of poor people.
It's the neo-lib Chicago school policies that are causing things such as "s universities would have to cut funding to some programs and stop teaching certain courses because they have a budget problem" - a problem that exists because the right-wing government has cut funding, and students can't afford the swingeing fees that have to be charged.
In other words, it's the opposite of what you claim!
In the 1930s, my father who was extremely intelligent, had to leave school at 14 because his family could not afford to keep him in education.
I've seen the misery that brought our family even 40 years later.
I'd go further and say just wanting equality of opportunity isn't going far enough.
Except that some people are filled with bitter envy and spite at the idea of it, we could have equality!

We ain't much better up here. Barrack Hussein turned us into a communist country when he passed the new law forcing everyone to pay the new Federal Tax in 2014, even if we don't have jobs.

"ObamaCare" or nationalized healthcare is a new federal tax.

Our failure to apply for ObamaCare by 2014= a $25,000 fine.

Our IRS will then ALSO levy a $750 annual fine on our income taxes. If we file taxes with our wife and have 2 kids, our annual fine will be $750 x 4 = $3,000.

You shouldn't be clamoring Chavez is bad. Barrack Hussein isn't much different than chavez. Notice everything in America has been nationalized? Banks, GM, college loans....nobody can afford homes. Building codes and laws and taxes have made it too expensive for the poor people in America to even have a roof over their heads.

I know people who live for over 20 years in Venezuela, and they are not as near worried as the OP.
Sure some of these people have some critics towards Chavez... who's perfect anyway?

But is he this monster that MSM is trying to portray? No.
Is his regime a Dictatorial one? No. He was elected. Twice, isn't it? (Much like the US under Bush, or Brazil under Lula, or.... you get the point).

In 2002 the CIA tried financing a coup, which did not go very well for the CIA, since THE PEOPLE realized what was going on and DEMANDED Chavez to get back on power.
Well..... That sure tells me something about the man...

What these people (those who I know that live in Venezuela) tell me is that only the Ignorant, the "imperialists", the "liberals" and those who blindly follow "the American Way", are the only people trying to discredit Hugo Chavez.
And before anyone asks, these people I know are NOT Chavistas per se. They are simple people, making under US$50k a year, but they still have their minds, eyes and ears working properly.

Well I have a modest income and an anual devaluation of 30% to 50% with no salary increase can make you stop liking somebody. Beside it was also elected here, that Venezuelans dont want Communism so why is this Gentlemen pushing so hard to get it?

Now the oposition had mayority in the parlament what is Chavez going to do?
We put habilitante law for the president so he can rule Venezuela without a parlament for one and a half year.
