Midwest Winter Storm - In Pictures

I live about 30 miles north of Detroit, Michigan, so I am currently experiencing the first major winter storm to hit the Midwest and Great Lakes region. Since there was no thread about it already I figured I would start one and throw in a few pictures of the storm from Minnesota and Wisconsin, along with a few pictures of my own here in Michigan.

Here is an amazing video of the roof collapsing at the Metrodome in Minneapolis where the Minnesota Vikings play.

That loud sound you hear at about the 42 second mark was a large branch breaking off the tree I turned to look at. The snow has piled up pretty good on the branches and power lines. Along with the strong winds, which have been about 30-40mph throughout the day, there have been a few branches down and the electricity has flickered on and off quite a bit. Thankfully we still have electricity, though (obviously).

Great post cool pictures, Metrodome football and hockey at the same time what a great idea!!! Living north of Buffalo we are getting ready for this storm, mainly the lake effect that comes with it.

Yeah, I heard you guys are going to get slammed again with the lake effect after the low pressure system moves east of you. It wasn't that long ago that you got hit hard, was it? Just a few days ago, I believe.

Forgot to mention that I saw a few 'snow tornadoes' while I was out shoveling the driveway. I didn't have my camera on me at the time, unfortunately. I wish I had been able to take a picture of one or record one. They only last a couple seconds but they look pretty cool!

Haha, yeah that's probably it. Sucks for the Vikings because their last home game of the season is next week. I don't see how they can repair the roof in a week. They may get that game moved too.

AAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!! Goodness man, I really feel sorry for you guys, looks mighty nasty and cold bleck!

Here in Iowa you could literally not see 5 feet in front of you, although we didn't get a lot of snow it was blowing around 50 to 60 mph.
