There are plenty of anti-Israeli/US news agencies out there, though you might want to ignore them if you are someone who enjoys pushing the idea that all of the lies and propaganda in the world originate from the US.

First two thoughts (not giving them any weight, just the first things that spring to mind) are:

a) There may be more chance that the Swedes will be more amenable to extraditing Assange to the USA now that Sweden are also targets of America arch enemies.

b) As Sweden is now in the news with wiki leaks and Assange and the eyes of the world are on them, it may be a good time, (if you are a terrorist....and, as it turns out, a pretty bad one at that. He didnt even die instantly....ouch !) to make your point.....however badly !

I agree, but it depends on what type of Muslim you talk to.

A Muslim born and raised in a Western Society would probably be less likely to promote this view since they value freedom of religion and liberty.

Someone raised in a Sharia Country or the Middle East though, would probably think that it is their job to convert the infidels.

There was just a thread recently about how 95% of Muslims in Egypt and other middle eastern countries would like Islam to control politics/government.

It is natural to assume that there are more news agencies biased towards The West or at least that they have more coverage if that is where you are from. If you were Chinese or North Korean or Russian or Iranian etcetera, you would probably think different and I'm guessing that together they would amount to quite a few more people reading anti-West news publications.

It's probably setting the scene so that the Swedish public will accept something like the following... In a few weeks there will be an announcement from the Swedish government saying something like:

'In light of the recent terror threat, and in the spirit of co-operation with our good friend and ally in the War Against Terror, the USA... we have decided to agree to extradite Mr Assange to the US. For security reasons we are also closing/confiscating all of Wikileak's servers. While we realise that this decision might be controversial, the threat from Terrorism here in Sweden is now very real... and we cannot allow anything or anyone to take or promote actions which might help those who are out to destroy our freedoms and way of life'
