San Antonio Spurs star Manu Ginobili wants answers -- because dude spotted an unidentified flying object in L.A. earlier this month ... and he's desperately trying to figure out what the hell it was.

Manu eyeballed the UFO when he was in town to play the Clippers on December 1 -- and he has since launched a serious investigation into the matter ... which involved a lot of Googling.

Manu posted his findings on his Facebook page yesterday, saying the best answer he could come up with was "a kind of spacecraft which is called X-37B and was supposed to land in the area between December 3 and 6. According to various media, it landed on Dec 3."

Manu points out that he spotted the craft on December 1 ... not December 3 ... so THE MYSTERY REMAINS.

Ehm, what was in that video?
Why did they only film the NBA player?
I can't use that video for anything, sorry.

They only filmed Manu because that's what the show TMZ does. Go up to celebrities and start asking them questions. TMZ just recently came out with a sports edition, so that's probably who this camera man was working for. He gets pay checks for filming athletes, not objects in the sky....

Don't believe ANYTHING you see on TMZ.

They are making this a mockery sad some of you buy it.

Which is silly because TMZ lacks much character...

They feed people with celebrity stardom, like the celebs are wonderful..

Or feed people with the faults of others who are *stars*

TMZ and the like are the bottom feeders of the pappirazi

Actually, it doesn't look like TMZ was making anything out of this. It looks like it was more about everyone else's reaction to what they were seeing in the sky.

Clearly something is falling from the sky, quickly losing altitude. Looks like a cloud, but clouds do not fall from heaven, not like that. I do not know what it is, but it seems a UFO to me.

I only see TMZ recording other people's reactions. Then again we didn't get to see much of anything in the footage so probably just garbage anyways. "Deny possibilities," right?

Haha, shrimp, super imposed onto the image. WHAT! That guy is actually assuming someone may have filmed a SHRIMP, I assume by green-screening a tank? Crazy.

This Santa Monica and NBA footage are very intriguing... What are these spiraling fireball things? Granted all the videos so far have been fairly poor in quality but the conversations in them really have me enticed. The video of the runner "I saw the same thing two weeks ago!" and the NBA clip "There's two of 'em!" suggest to me these aren't faked videos.

However, the fact most of the videos have something in common makes me wonder if it's a no good viral... NONE of the camera persons can get a very good shot, they ALL seem to focus (minus the one with the runner) on rubbish. It's like they've hit record on their phone cameras to capture the AUDIO. I'm wondering if the Silver Surfer is perhaps a viral nod to the upcoming release of Green Lantern, but that's pure speculation. Different comic companies

Still, I'm interested in these new stories and their puzzle...I can't wait for some closeup footage of these streaking objects if it ever happens...

Posted this on a duplicated thread:

The X-37B was due to land in California on the 5th December... it is what most people may be seeing but it doesn't account for the various accounts of sightings over a prolonged period of time.

Apparently the X-37B was seen in Nixa, Missouri on this date:

www.youtube.com...

Of course, the TMZ video was filmed on (at latest) the 3rd of December. But hey! I guess we need a replacement excuse for a "weather balloon"!
