I keep hearing this inane and fatally flawed argument over and over and shake my head every time wondering how those who have already capitulated worry so much about what the government might take away from them whilst they have already all but handed their own freedom on their own volition.

So what, your point is that by Anon expressing themselves freely they might take away your ability to do so?

It seems you and others who make this argument have nothing to worry about since you have already conformed without the government doing anything. Not only that but you spread their good word to boot, and for free.

the difference is now, the tea company is one of the few companies that still hire americans and pay them a living salary, and because the owner of the tea company votes on policies that disagree with anon's agenda in some fashion, the americans who work at the tea company are being targeted as well. their private information is released to the public as if it was anyone else's business if they are going to meet their husband at 2pm for lunch at such and such a restaurant. at first, they were considered innocent victims of a necessary war, now they are being called accessories to the crime of the business owner himself, whether they agree with his principles or not. the reality is, people have to eat, and maintain the laws of the land or risk losing everything they have, including their children and their property (in some cases they have worked their entire lives for this stuff).

Like most entities, people, organizations, with good intentions, you eventually start to adopt the behaviours of those you fight.

So, while fighting for free speech you instead decide to start censoring those you disagree with.
