Ugh! Ack!!
You might be over-analyzing. About all the "psychological" aspects.....
It is merely another in the franchise that is the "Transformers" money machine, nothing more, nothing less. They HAD to come up with something that
audiences would find "interesting". In fact, here you have a sort of "Wag the Dog" scenario....the most outrageous, tinfoil-hat conspiracy
"theories" and "claims" are the driving force.
What is tragic, though....another whole generation of young minds will be infected. Bad enough, there are probably a fair amount of kids out there
who think that "transformers" are real, already......
This won't help, in many cases, with the critical thinking skills that are lacking, more and more.
But, here is a prediction that is almost certain to come true: ATS will be swamped with "believers", because of a fictitious plot line, designed
merely to sell a motion picture. Most people outside the movie industry have no idea that there is a huge appetite for things that are
"innovative", especially in the Action/Adventure genres.
Oh, and there's another schlock concept, that either is ripping off on this, or vice versa (depends on who thought of it first, I suppose...).
"Apollo 18", I think it's going to be called. A twist, of course (no "transformers"...."aliens"....)

Yet another in a long line of confusion, for those who are misinformed, or inclined to "believe" in any conspiracy, without rational judgment.
