ITT: We discuss the pros and cons of Communism and compare them too the pros and cons of democracy, only facts. I don't want any "hurp durp we fought a war against communism its bad" You may speak theoretically for it as if we didn't have a government who wouldn't # us over. ( Not like they aren't #ing us over already.)

Both are socialist like nazi and communist are both socialist.

The only free country there was was when usa was a republic, and every person had the right of a king and was soverign. Now your a democracy and mob rule socialism.

Understand democracy is socialism, and look at the size of gov you have now, and reps are just as bad as dems, for building gov.

Communism and Democracy are not mutually exclusive. In a democracy, the constituents could choose communism if they so wanted. Communism in practice in the last century has been dictatorial but this is not a necessity.

Democracy only relates to how the populace chooses government, whereas Communism is one particular form of that government that may be imposed or chosen, depending on whether the nation is democratic, monarchistic, dictatorial or otherwise.

Yes but what do you believe would be a better choice?

Unfortunately even a republic will eventually warp into a sort of mob-rule socialism as the alleged "representatives" appeal to the local mobs for their power and money.

Every government eventually becomes tyrannical and corrupt because those who seek power are inherently evil and those who would grant that power are inherently stupid.

Democracy means ruled by the people...so we (U.S.) are most definitely not. If we were, we would not need any politicians, as the people would vote on every single thing to vote on, every day. We don't have that kind of time, so we elect representatives to represent our ideals.

Everything went to hell when our representatives / politicians got bought up and threatened by the private sector.

Sure we still vote our officials into office, but the people we vote for were put there....for an alternate agenda. If a politician wants to do good for the people, (no gmo food, no oil drilling, whatever) he will be threatened or silenced.

So, we are not a democracy, we are not a republic, we need a new word for what we are (suggestions welcome...i'm thinking shamocracy)

Communism, in theory, is the perfect form of government. The only thing the theory does not take into account is human nature and free will. If you work twice as hard as your neighbor, and have all the same stuff.........

I agreed with this post up until the comments about GMO food (which none on the market are actually "killing" anyone) as well as oil drilling, I'm sorry but the world runs on Oil until that changes we need to continue drilling, period.
