Islamists raise fears of violent 'clash of cultures' in Europe

www.msnbc.msn.com

It is a Sunday night in London's East End and the self-styled "most hated man in Britain" is holding court, reveling in his vision of a Taliban victory over America and a world under Islamic Shariah law.

The crowd of about 250 listens intently as Anjem Choudary issues a call to arms in the pristine surroundings of the newly refurbished art deco conference center, built to host weddings and business meetings.

"There are many battlefields," he says calmly into a microphone. "There's a battlefield outside 10 Downing Street [home to Britain's prime minister] and in the mountains of

seems to me that these people do not care about the people mourning the loss of fellow countrymen they are just trying to grab the attention of anyone who will toss them an ear. it truely is sad to see history repeat itself albeit in different ways but still much the same welcome to the new crusades???
it sure looks that way to me christian vs islam islam vs world just a little bit more time and there should be full scale violence all around the world all in the name of god...

Kind of reminds me of another conversation in a different thread where a question was asked to the females, that ifthey visited countries in the Middle East, would they cover themselves in an Islamic fashion. The reponse for a few were yes, and my question was why. The reponses was its their country, their rules.

A valid point, However,

Why does that same rule not apply when people of the Islamic faith, not all of them, go to other countries and demand the culture their adapt to them?

Personally I could care less if a female is covered head to toe walking down the street, and in my opinion I dont see what they could care less when a non muslim female walks down the street in their country in jeans and a shirt.

Are there men that unable to control themselves?

My point is they beleive what they beleive, and thats them.. I beleive what I ebelive and thats me. I dont force my views on others, so why is it acceptable in the opposite?

Threatening to kill someone because they drew a picture of Mohammed, when the person who drew it is not even muslim.... wtf is that?

I think some of the extremists elements in all religions are the ones pushing a holy war style enviornment. These people need to have their heads knocked together.

Going to war over religion is like fighting over who has the imaginary friends.

could not agree more with what you stated there is simply far too much to reply to that in my head at the moment. all of the worlds religous texts are mostly about individual morality, basic laws and gives a philosophy of how to live life all good ideas; humans being humans twist and bend these ideas to push their own to terrifying levels in many occasions generating power from an idea meant to accompany not govern groups of humans. mankind can most certainly turn everything into poison we truely are a planetary virus even killing eachother out of dominance (or forced into battle). i wonder if i were to go to the middle east how quickly i would be arrested, killed, kidnapped for ransom simply because i am a western but the rest of the world is supposed to be passive, tolerant, acceptive??

mocking fallen soldiers on their home turf is asking for a punch in the face at the very least making a "call to arms" in a foreign country fighting for civilians of your homeland (if anything at all) i would shoot you in the face personally. promoting laws and actions that abuse and cripple, kill your own people while abandoning a majority of the rest of the text.. that would be like me saying i like "eye for an eye" but then again these people are in that mindset as well.

it can all be put into the figurative of a boiling tea kettle will someone come over and turn off the oven or will it whistle and come boiling out and from what i see the heat is steadily rising

One has to ask why in 2010 the British public still has to put up with Anjem Choudary and his followers..
He and his sort should be on the first boat out.

Why should the families who have sons and husbands serving in Afghanistan and Iraq have to suffer this kind of bollocks.
Its humiliating that the British government has done nothing to abolish this man,

Its times like these that the empire spirirt should raise its head more than ever and unify us to combat this poison that is eating England alive from the inside out.

While I agree with what you are saying, look at it like this.

What better way to prove our point and show what democracy is all about, by allowing their NATC 2.0 compliant
extremists the ability to speak their misguided thoughts. We can pretty much be assured that people speaking out against the actions of extremists would not be tolerated in some of their countries.

If anything it proves that western culture is a bit more sound, where we can tolerate more than one view point without our nuerons fritzing out.

Why thats not being used against extremists is beyond me.
