So today we have seen Wikileaks removed due to pressure by the USA after Amazon just two days ago removed Wikileaks from it's servers.

Now my understanding is that these were US firms that took this action and that the .org domain comes under US jurisdiction, so whilst I disagree with their action in censoring the Internet I can understand the mechanics of how they were able to achieve it.

However there is another issue I wanted to bring to your attention.

This picture some of you might remember from several months ago in a USA crackdown on the ditribution of copyrighted tv shows and films. There was a site called tvshack.net who had their content removed and this notice attached instead. .net domains fall under US jurisdiction so again I understand the mechanics of how they achieved this without agreeing with it.

The people behind tvshack just cannily packed up their content and recreated the site under a new URL that didn't fall under US jurisdiction. they chose the Cocos (Keeling) Islands Wikipedia Link. This is an Australian territory and subject to Australian laws not US laws. However this week tvshack.cc has been taken down and the above picture inserted. Please note it says 'U.S. Immigration and Customs enforcement' NOT AUSTRALIAN.

The wiki page lists as the administrator of the .cc domain:

eNIC managed and marketed the top level domain with great success to become the "second largest TLD registry in the United States second only to Verisign" according to Brian Cartmell, founder and CEO of eNIC[1] who testified before the United States Senate in regard to The Governance of the Domain Name System by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers on February 4, 2001
. So we see here that the USA not only cares little for freedom of speech, it also disregards international law and international boundaries (which some of the more suspicious of you would say we have known since the Korean war
)

I have one further point. The site Tvshack carries no illegal content whatsoever, it does not host uploaded videos or anything of the like. It only provided links to other hosts such as megavideo.com . Notice the actual hosts of the illegal content are a .com under US jurisdiction. They have been allowed to trade with no issues or restrictions at all. They have not had their site closed or domain use restricted but a site providing links only to content has been hounded across international borders.

Lastly to reveal the final hypocrisy of the USA, internet poker is illegal in the USA through the provision of an attachment to a port authority bill in 2006 (approx). This bill says it is illegal to transact money to online gambling sites. Several of the big players withdrew immediately from the US market - partypoker, igaming etc etc. Two massive companies did not stop taking Us players or money, pokerstars.com and fulltiltpoker.com notice they are .com and under US jurisdiction. They are clearly breaking the law and yet the US do nothing to them, why? Lobbying dollars? I can't think of any other reason they have been allowed to make millions of dollars a day if it is proven that they are breaking the law - they are, and that the USA can remove their site in the blink of an eye - they can!

Something is rotten in the USA and the Freedom of speech is non existent any more. I urge you all that live State side to write to your elected officials to protest the pressure to remove Wikileaks.org because whether you agree with what they have done and are doing they have proven that the USA does not respect freedom of speech any more. Remember just like the tvshack links, publishing classified documents is not illegal - categorically. It might not be liked, it might be immoral it might be something we dislike BUT IT IS NOT ILLEGAL AND WE MUST PROTECT FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

I BELIEVE YOU GUYS CALL IT THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

I guess the guys that made that amendment did it for a bloody good reason - so respect their memory and their actions and protest the illegal acts of your government please, for the sake of us all.

My conspiracy theory on this is deeper.

Someone is purposefully making these moves to push business outside of the US.
This is either to bankrupt the nation with a bunch of tiny cuts, or to make a specific place outside the US to profit from this...or a mix of the two of course

The only people capable of doing this would of course be in a high place...secret service, cia, who knows...but the rat would have to be wearing a very shiny badge so to speak in order to truely orchistrate this..

Its good to follow the money...meaning either finding out who is profiting from it, or more importantly in this case, who is suffering from it.
Keep watching...should more commerce and information become denied to the citizens for one reason or another, I think a collective red flag should go up...

Fight the enemy, domestic and abroad...they weren't talking about someone selling some joints as the domestic enemy...the founding fathers forseen such an event of high placed agents trying to rip down the foundation of the country...and that will not be requiring a gun to do it.

All very good thoughts and views in regards to corruption, power and greed. I wonder though, that if in fact our upper echelons of power are purposefully trying to destroy this country for the purpose of control, keeping in mind how all things are connected from one country to the next ( ie...global market ) , wouldn't that suggest that its more of a test to see if the strongest country may fall to the hands of power, which in turn would allow for the other world leaders to ' bring down " their respective countries for the sole purpose of control?
Stop and think, if all countries fell, lets use global market disaster as the culprit, and now all the presidents of the many different countries came together, they could be like see....we have control, and the people didn't think it could be done? A complete and utter global dictatorship! Which would further suggest the whole NWO conspiracy, may not be just a conspiracy anymore?
It will be interesting to watch as all these questionable developments continue.

And now the USA has forced paypal to stop wiki taking donations.

In addition: Us blocks access to Wikileaks for federal workers

Where will the censorship end?
