Britain is to spend 180 million pounds buying light-protected patrol vehicles from Force Protection Europe. The new machines are initially for use by troops fighting in Afghanistan.
The European arm of U.S.-based Force Protection was named preferred bidder for the urgent operational requirement in September, when the company's new Ocelot vehicle beat out competition from a rival Supacat bid.
Final contract negotiations have been completed, and the deal, announced by defense procurement and support minister Peter Luff, is scheduled to see the first of 200 vehicles delivered for troop training in 2011.
The entire order is scheduled to be delivered by the spring of 2012. An initial spares package is also included in the contract.

Well in the first few seconds of watching the vid, I can see it has a V shaped lower haul which is purposely designed to resist IED blasts...
Probably have the wheels blown off though.
