NASA press release announcing "an astrobiology finding" -- something that will impact the search for extraterrestrial life -- has sent shockwaves through the blogosphere. The press release simply announces an event, set for Thursday at 2 p.m. EST, to discuss an astrobiology discovery "that will impact the search for evidence of extraterrestrial life." Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution, distribution and future of life in the universe.

in all fairness to the ops...none of the other threads actually made it to hot topics or recently flagged...and this -may- end up being a big deal.
but really, its just alot of speculation for now...they could be announcing signs of life, or a meteor coming for us, or they got a fancy new way of detecting life with hopes of finding, or etc etc etc...
