Hi, my name is Jason, and I've been lurking about the forums for quite a while, maybe a couple of years... Generally not one to add much to subjects, as you might be able to tell from my lack of activity, but now I suppose I've decided to become a slightly more active member of the place - or try to be, at least.

For the most part, I am interested in things like... paranormal, cryptozoology, that sort of thing. In truth, I suppose I don't necessarily believe in these things as some people might, and it is more likely that my love of fantasy and my over-active imagination that fuel my interest in these particular "mysterious" topics. I am certainly a logical thinker, in my opinion. I believe what I can witness, but that is not to say I cannot accept the possibility of other things.

I am completely of the opinion that ALL things are entirely possible, though some are more or less likely than others. It is a hard way to live, of course, not knowing what to believe, as most of you would know. It makes you question so much about yourself and what you see around you that, at times, you can find yourself lost completely. Because of that I do, of course, respect every person's beliefs. Many people need something to believe in, to keep themselves "grounded", similar to how a boat might need to be anchored to keep itself from becoming constantly adrift in unpredictable waters.

Even those of us with fluid beliefs will hold onto something at some point, even for a brief moment, as we consider the potentially endless possibilities. How else would we make decisions, after all?

That is not to say I am kind to everyone or that I will accept everything I am told. Rather, I am willing to consider each opinion, live with the fact others feel differently, and most of all, not force my opinions onto others. I dislike hypocrisy, though I can certainly be a hypocrite myself at times. I also have a problem with ignorance, though it can be considered acceptable at times. Probably because I have more of a problem with the suffering of others, and if ignorance is bliss for some, I am willing to allow them to keep that ignorant bliss, as long as they keep it to themselves.

Uhhh... What else is there to say?

I live near the Grampians in Victoria, Australia. I actually would like to start a topic about that at some point soon, but I don't know where I would, so it would be cool if someone wanted to discuss some stuff about the way the board works with me, especially any Australians, or whatever... heh. I do know that this forum is NOT for starting topics, but it seemed reasonable to add here that I'm interested in general info about the area I live in, especially since it seems that there's been some UFO activity (apparently), and more interestingly, the whole panther thing.

I'm a little absent-minded, so this is all I'm gonna be able to write down right now, as my attention is being stolen by other things. If I think of anything else, or if anyone has any questions or replies to anything I've mentioned, I'll add that stuff later.

Oh, yeah, I'm a student by occupation and... cool site!
