t's got palm trees, deck chairs, and sand -- and at long last, Paris' city centre beach is now going to offer people a place to bathe.

Mayor Bertrand Delanoe said on Thursday the fourth year of Paris Plage (Paris Beach) would include a 220-square metre swimming pool where people could cool off without plunging into the polluted River Seine.

And just in time for summer. I did not realize that Paris' beach did not include water. Good for them. Don't forget behind the ears.

No, you misunderstand. The article uses "bathe." I thinks it's a continental thing.

Maybe I did, as it's normal for antifrench banter to be here, not that I love the french.

Bathing is just another word for swimming with no definition if it is about cleaning or just swimming. Neutral.

Anyway, who would like to take a bath in that water? I don't know but I guess it ain't the best.
