Dave, I reckon you have it spot on there mate, nice detective work.

I knew it wasn't a balloon because the item is motionless as proved by the lens speed of the people in the photo, all motion blurred, I could not have imagined a balloon THAT steady.

It looks like someone threw a purse in the air and took a picture. It appears to be the strap is on the bottom

I’m glad to see a thread calmly and accurately debunked.

a street light wasn't my first thought but it is clearly that.... also you can see two more street lights that look the same behind the "ufo". They are a little faded obviously because of the distance but it puts it all into perspective.

I did get a good laugh at that sissy-boy homeland sign though on the left of the original pic though.

Yeah I originally thought that it was going to be some kind of "specialist" shop too especially as it's in Amsterdam, but it turns out they just sell rather boring clothes
