I do hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, Mamabeth, and didn't really spend it composing more posts to my already answered one.

You'll be glad to know my atheist friends and family and I had a lovely time. Sure we don't do Thanksgiving here. We even ignore halloween because it's too American. But. being Aussies, we never need an excuse to get together and celebrate and to give thanks to Bacchus for the invention of brewing. We always invite Jesus too. He comes in handy when we run out of red.

Why do we have to be giving thanks to god? Can’t a person just be generally thankful for everything he or she has, and use the day of Thanksgiving to celebrate that. We don’t have to believe in god to be thankful.
