Is there a device that can stop a camcorder from recoding?

to my knowledge EMP can be directed into a small area, although i'm not sure if it would be as focused as a laser. more like the beam from an ordinary flashlight im guessing. i know it's possible to make a low-powered directed emp device from radio-shack components. many gambling magazines have ads for them as they're used frequently in casinos to mess up slot machines somehow. cryptome.org had a good link to a site with these devices, although i cant find the url anymore. i'd imagine if an ordinary techie can make such a device, a big company can probably make something better... although it would probably have to have been something like area 51 you were filming for them to use such hardware.

I work with covert surveillance kit. Also in counter surveillance and there is nothing that can prevent your camera recording its image onto its internal tape or memory stick.
There are however plenty of ways to stop remote recording of images or sound, or transmitting images. If your footage was spoiled by an external source as discussed previously, the spoiled image would still be saved to tape, be it over exposed or other wise.
Sounds like a case of operator error.

Don't buy any thing from plans and kits without asking Robert I. every single tiny detail, his bussiness is a bit shifty and you may get the shaft.

Ask him about the CW ruby laser he had before and the amount of trouble and money it takes to polish the un-polished ruby rods he offers for cheap. Its some times like he doesn't care if what he sells works or not and or the person doesn't know how to assemble it. However his "ray guns and other space age projects" book is good.

Did the camera record normally after wards? Maybe a laser tricked the light sensor to close the iris/appature and make a normal day condidtion turn dark like you pointed it at the sun. It could have also been the iron curtain.

It`s not whether i trust you but if you do odd things in sensitive areas you will draw the wrong type of attention.Terrorist and agents don`t tend to stick there heads out so obviously they rely on other people to do it for them.You don`t want them to think you have friends in high places
