Well something has to be done - the planet is in peril. We might as well try something to try and solve the problem.

Of course not. We know exactly what will happen because our theories and so called "scientific facts" say so. Remember how we thought the laws of physics were fact? Boom!!!! Shattered.

This is the beginning of time travel and time dilation research. Once fusion has been perfected, they will be able to utilize incredible amounts of power from these reactions as well as the gravitational quantum energy distortions/displacement to manipulate time.
