I have been a reader of ATS for a while. I finally decided to join because something has been bugging me:
Why is it, for instance in connection with the HPH tipping point, that people insist on expecting something negative to happen?
I am a believer in the predictive power of stochastic models - but the positive or negative connotation of the results is supplied by us humans!! So, why automatically equate a forecast tipping point with something "bad" happening? There is absolutely no basis in the dataset to assume a positive or negative outcome. A tipping point is merely the point at which pent up anticipation finds a release.
The world is not merely building towards disaster!! Perhaps parts of it are, but there are myriad relationships out there, positive and negative. When things tip, everything picks up momentum - the good, the bad and the indifferent. I intend to focus on the things that will begin moving in a positive direction should the model forecasts hold true. Those people narrowing their vision to what is or isn't being done politically and in the media are likely to miss the boat on the rising tide of human evolution.

Welcome!!!!!!

It's nice to have a bit of optimism and positivity around here, try not to loose it!

As for your question, I have no idea about how the tipping point thing is calculated so I can't speculate, I will give you a flag for your optimism though

Welcome!

As I see it why is nobody discussing the possibility that each human being will be responsible for his own past actions when this "terrible" event comes that so many people nowadays can feel but dare not talk about?

Ie a good person has good things to show while a bad person has bad stuff to show(in another dimension karma and virtue are real substances, black and white, and each person has a mix of them).

And the divider of fate will be your own past actions(of all lives down here on planet earth).

Therefore, try searching inside yourself during conflicts, it might just be beneficial...

/Zhen-Shan-Ren(Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance) is good.

While I agree with your statements about zhen shan ren - there seems to be a bit of chiristian moralism mixed in with your stated views. Indeed, we are responsible for our actions and intentions in every moment. I beleive this to be important for our post-death futures, whether a broader catastrophe happens or we simply meet the end of our current life. But, Karma is not something separate from us - we are Karma. Thus, the three tenets are tools for our growth - not moral imperatives! Much like the "Ten Commandments", by the way.
I would challenge you to eliminate value judgement from your view of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

I believe this discussion is appropriate in another forum, ie the metaphysics forum.

Can you start a thread there and PM me?
