OK, Im new to the pit. Im not going to give my political affiliations right now, it isnt relavant to this thread anyways. I was just wondering what everyone believes should be the end goal for the war on terror? Should it be stabilizing Iraq, or going after Cuba and North Korea? Should it be increasing the abilities of the Patriot Act and the Homeland Security? Or should we build walls around the US, close the borders, prepare the nukes, and fire in the hole? Id really like to see everyones thoughts without intense personal attacks. Debate the issue not the issuers.

I think the "War On Terror", much like the "War On Drugs" will never have a clear victory moment (i.e. Hitler's suicide, surrender at Appamattox, Saddam's capture, etc). It was more about a declaration about the U.S. now cracking down harder on anyone threatening our citizens and taking the fight to the terrorists rather than sitting back and catching them in the act.

This is the type war that has no "front lines". Terrorism will never truly be defeated. All one can do is hope to slow it down and have them looking over their shoulders. It is like the war on drugs.
