The book is "The Hidden Injuries of Class" by Sennett and Cobb. And it's making me distrust socialism more then ever.

There is this decrying of the lack of a revolution. What's the deal? Why do we need a revolution. The book literally points to immigrants and minorities settling into 'normal, comfortable american life' like its some kind of curse.

The socialist intelligentsia are a bunch of general thugs without an army. They literally seem to be upset that capitalism has managed to provide a base line of living insufficiently low to cause an uprising.

Never trust anyone who begs for a revolution. Anybody who begs for a revolution is actually asking to be your leader.

Instead of writting out the full paragraphs for the outline below, I'm going to save myself the trouble and go with SnusFanatics' conclusion.

David Grouchy

Class warfare

America when did it become a crime to be rich

Isn't it interesting that the same people who are rabidly anti socialist are also against big capitalist.

What if the problem is the labels that we use.

How to deconstruct magical wording.

I think the idea that people pursuing their own individual wants and desires leading to a pleasant outcome bugs them. They would prefer if everyone assimilates and collectively acts. Who'd have thunk that being free to have private property and being able to do business would lead to much more prosperity for all than being forced to work together as hive mind?
