Norway investigates reports of U.S. spying






(CNN) -- Authorities in Norway have launched an investigation into whether the United States conducted illegal surveillance in the Nordic country, the Ministry of Justice told CNN Thursday. Officials from Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs talked to the number two at the American Embassy in Oslo, James Heg, about the allegations on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said. "Because here at the Foreign Ministry, we have not been informed about this" alleged surveillance, she said, asking that her name not be used.

This is huge in Norway at the moment, and today reports came from both Sweden and Denmark that they have been the subjects of the same kind of spying.

What do you guys think about this? Are USA going to far? This clearly tensions the political relationship between the Scandinavian countries and USA. Personally I'm fed up with USA thinking always taking for granted that they can do whatever they want to, even on non-US soil. It's up to the government and defense of the country where the embassies are to protect them, so why not just leave it to them? Enough is enough.
