SST-PR-1

I keep getting this SSID around my neighborhood. Does anyone know to what, or who, this belongs to?

I did a search on this board and did not find the subject. I also searched the web and found either it's a Sears truck or unknown.

It has been know to switch MAC #'s

it has a BSSID of FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF

Alot of sites on Google say taht people arent sure what it is but most think its a Sears Van. Weird...

Yeah, I saw that too. So I drove around the neighborhood looking for a Sears truck, or any delivery truck. None around. And the signal did not change in strength.

Later that evening, I am at home and the signal strength shoots up to 65. I must not have looked in a large enough radius.

Know anybody with a GPS?? If you have a card with the Prism2 chipset then go get youself NetStumbler. Then set it up with the GPS...then just turn it on and itll tell you the position of the access point.

Thats just a default system identifier for fleet commercial vehicle wireless, satelite connections. Look for and fleet van or truck (semi even) with dish or dome on top. Can be sears, maytag, or any other company for that matter. It's not the government dropping in on you

That's interesting - round here we have TP-LINK showing up and it's a very strong signal, it always shows full strength even better than my router - might dust off my backtrack 4 disk and look at it a little closer - it's odd because sometimes it has security enabled and sometimes not. Any one seen that before?

Isn't that a spoofed MAC address? Someone hiding the equipments identity?
