I don't really know but a good question, I think it depends on who you ask but maybe a start would be to read Mein Kampf.

Fascists don't believe that they are fascists. They think that they are normal people, 'burdened' with a great responsibility (for eample to preserve racial purity, protect morals, prevent urban crime) and since they are morally pious and on a 'mission', any technologies or techniques that they mobilize to achieve their goals are justified without question.

It's easy for any society to slip into fascism, because it's not like there's a moment where everyone looks around and suddenly says 'OMG look we're dressed like stormtroopers we must be fascists.'

...its hereditary - they come out of the shoot like that...
...jk (sorta)...

...the first step in any form of fascism is programming the very young to believe that fantasy is reality - or - that fantasy is preferable to reality... then, its a long-held dysfunctional family tradition to make fun of youngsters when they realize that their parents intentionally lied and there is no santa, no tooth fairy... next comes the heavy handed indoctrination into christianity and its perverted version of patriotism - ie: censoring descenting views, idol worship (flag, "founding fathers", pledge, monuments, songs, statues, symbols) and preaching pro-life until the kids are 18 and uncle sam needs em to die in a bs war...

The very best book I have on this is "Political Ponerology" by Andrew M. Lobaczewski.

It's a little pricey, rarely goes on sale and the free ebook I found dried up years ago.

But, it's one of the top books in my library and worth every penny.

Want to know your enemy's thought process, what makes them tick. Read this book.

This goes for most politicians, CEO's, most managers, and corporate goons that have all sold their soul.

Once I read this book, I began to really understand my journey through the rabbit hole of Corporate America.
