Hello fellow ATSers! I've been around for a while, as you can see from the date on my profile thing. I mainly lurk around reading posts, and forming my own opinions, while not trying to tell others what I think. There are so many members that either are, or are good at acting, highly educated here that the opinions of a small town girl won't count for much. (Plus I think I have an inner fear of being automatically dismissed, or outwardly flamed.) Many times (just as I'm thinking of replying to a thread) I keep reading on, and others have expressed the exact things I'm thinking. I was going to start a thread under the dreams category, but found out that I can't start a post there until I have 20 other posts. I think I had 13 before this one (mostly while the ATS games are going on), so I'd better get on my way to ducking and skating around the place.

Welcome to ATS, cryslyn75. I did the same thing. Even now I still read 95% more than I post.
There's just SO much info here.
Looking forward to your dream thread

Well done for taking the step out of the shadows ... looks like we joined the same year ... seems like so much has happened since then doesn't it ?

If you've been lurking in the shadows then you'll know the pitfalls ... but don't be afraid to state your ideas ... doesn't matter if not everyone agrees or has a different opinion ... it just is what it is, and your opinions are just as valid and valuable as anyone elses.

Looking forward to seeing you on the boards.

Woody

I too have been around for awhile...lurking, but 3 days ago I decided to join and try to be as benefical to people's posts as possible.

you noticed too, best advice I can give as a fellow newbie, is to just jump in feet first...then grow a thick skin.
If anyone is giving you a bit of stick just remind them that you are still learning (which we all are).

Anyways enjoy your stay and I look forward to your future posts

Welcome small town girl!

Remember, what I believe really will matter in the future will be your heart(and the matter of virtue), and as far as I see it many kindhearted, humble people today live in small towns.

So called "intelligence" or "IQ" does not imply you have a kind heart. In fact those "intelligent" but bad people you refer to are not very intelligent at all since they accumulate karma and loose virtue to the person they slander.

In short, just post what you feel is your standpoint, if someone slanders you you will be compensated although you may not realize how good it is at that moment. That is what I have learned in my self-cultivation of Falun Dafa. Bad people are actually hurting themselves while they think they "win" an argumentation. Hence, let them "win".

/Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.

Hey cryslyn75!

Just for the record, small town girls rock!

Since you've been lurking you know the drill and how this all works... Remember to put games back and clean up after yourself if you use the dayroom... meds are passed out three times a day... And group therapy happens in the chatroom! Which I do recommend, BTW, a lot of fun (mostly).

If you've ever got any questions, feel free to u2u me and I'll do my best to help!

Happy to see you interacting and I look forward to seeing you in the threads!
