I think it would be the appearance that they're staying in place and they're most likely heading towards the camera. I'm unsure which cam you're specifically referring to although I know the one cam was refreshing every 7 seconds or so and another every 30 seconds. There's literally a lot of missing information from one capture to the next in addition to the shutter rate and other issues. I don't think I've seen one appear to stay stationary as long as you say.

I took about 60, their was defently UFO activity. Their was lights all over the sky, i just posted the most interesting ones.

All four cams refresh every 30 seconds.

If a light were coming toward the cam, it would invariably have to show movement at some point. Sometimes these simply disappear or do other amusing things.

I'm well aware of a/c behavior, having grown up on military bases and living under flight paths for the best part of my life. My husband has worked for an airline for a quarter century. I know planes. I have also seen UFOs three times in my life. I know they were UFOs because I know planes.

yeah i know that planes light up red and blue but the stationary objects ive seen here are really far out there. They flash red and blue as well but just dont move at all. The low flyng ones dont look like regular aircraft maybe millitary idk its just the way that they light up dim in and out and the speed that makes them very strange especially since ive never seen them before.

I wasn't positive if you were referring to the cams from the OP or not because there's another set of cams that I believe were mentioned in this thread that refresh at the aforementioned 7 second rate. Now that I know which cams you're referring to we can move forward.

If a light was coming (directly) towards the cam it would not show movement and it should appear to get brighter and larger although the cam limitations may prevent that. With a 30 second refresh rate and limited field of view it's certainly possible that any discernible movement could occur between refresh rates and appear as though it disappeared.

Your experiences have a tremendous amount of time familiar with airplanes and flight paths compared to me although that's no reason to believe that I didn't look at the pictures in question. Nothing I posted stated or implied that I wasn't familiar with the pictures in question. I even posted one of the pictures along with others and commentary on the previous page.

Of course if you watch Wired New York long enough your gonna see something.... we just need more people from ATS that live in NY to back this up...

Make a group or something to figure that out...
