Jihad... What does it mean? Why is it done? Why cannot it to be stopped?

For starters, Jihads meaning... The meaning of Jihad is as follows:

Contrary to common belief, the word "jihad" does not necessarily imply any violent effort, let alone "war" and such instances of extreme violence. It is a general term that can mean violent as well as peaceful actions, depending on the context in which it is used, as we shall indeed see later. Similarly, "jihad" as a generic word can be used even when the sought goals are not Islamic, i.e. in non-religious contexts.

So... Jihad... Can mean education, education is a goal... It can mean allot of things and is thrown around as if it is a term used as a only-violent term.

So whats up with this Jihad holy war? Well... Jihad, holy war, fighting, Jihad has almost nothing to do with "holy war" or whatever they call it... It's sad that people think that Islam encourages holy war against all non-muslims when it is nothing of that meaning, and the people who go about this, the terrorists are uneducated, imbesolic people who have taken the preferances of Islam, in the beauty it is, and turned it into a large lie, fraud, etc.

But it's not just there fault, everyone who ignores these facts are at fault and are going to feed the hate, more hate bring more hate, and that is common sense, why cannot we live in a world with a little bit of common sense, that little bit, little tiny bit that is going to make a big difference in the world we live in today and the world we can live in.

If us humans brought a little more acceptance and less hate for what we call the oppresive forces, we could make a difference, we could deny propoganda being fed to us, but it`s a matter of if we do. Because right now it does not seem good. I see groups everywhere for the oppression of Islam, the islamization of entire nations, why, for what outcome?

Is this what humans are about?

Islamophobia?

Atlas Shrugs

God hates the world?

Only a few examples of hate... Such a strong word thrown around like it's a toy.

How will we get any better if we continue ignoring the facts, if continue ignoring morals, putting our own emotions before our morals, what is this? This is not what Islam is about, or most religions for that matter.

With best intentions,

Dani.

This message (and it is a good message), would be much better received if :

A) Moderate Muslims would stand up and denounce their radical brothers.

B) "Jihadists" would stop blowing innocent people up.

Your right, why? Because I cannot do with this kinda of media, I, try to do as much as I can, but it's never enough, along with many other moderate muslims, we try to get the media's attention, but they are craving some suicide bomber, or nuclear program, they can't seem to see that we wan't to give positive messages but they keep denying us, but my motivation won't let me stop that. Any media that does listen will be some small paper that will put it somewhere in the middle like it doesn't matter.

So what about the term Takai ( not sure of the spelling) ? This word is an embodiment of the belief the it is ok to lie to none muslims in order to advance Islam. Knowing this, I'm not sure I believe the ops definition of jihad.

I read an interview with an Iman in London. He was asked why in the world weren't they denouncing these people and taking a stand against them? Completely excommunicating them from the muslim faith? His response was, like everybody else, they are afraid to.

The important thing is for you not to give up. Join with other moderates and discuss ways to spread your message. Do not let the extremists get in your head.

I'm a Christian, but I don't go to church, I don't carry a Bible around, and I don't try to "save" everybody I come across. However, every chance I get I let my feelings be known about bible-thumpers and otherwise nutty Christians....

Jihad means "struggle". It is also a somewhat common male name.

I have even seen that, and that really triggered me a bit as I am working as much as I can, but still, the people, imam, can't notice because they have been blinded, they are going to report why we "don't" try to take action, but they know already know because they are trying to hide it, they want the opposite of the moderate want or they just don't find this news "good enough" or "exciting enough"...

Not promoting hate. Making that clear.

However, have you actually ever read the Koran and its hadiths?

The "crazies" get their ideas from the Holy Book of Koran and its hadiths. They
have read plainly what is said and instructed. They are fundamentalist
Muslims, yes, however, they are only following what they inferred from the readings.

They are to fight against oppression. They are to fight against persecution. That is how
they have viewed the intrusion of other countries and they point out that is what Mohammed himself did.

In reading the Koran and its hadiths, it is almost as though there are two books of the Koran.
One peaceful, one violent.

I am not advocating for the terrorists, I am just pointing out that their views come from their Holy Book.
They have taken it literally and out of context.

(Much like many Christians do with the Bible, - Westboro-, the people who kill abortion doctors... they take verses out of context and act upon them).

Uhm, yeah, they do take it out of context, because they think that's what needs to be followed which is absoloutely false.

Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors. [2:190].

If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things. [8:61]

one of my favorites:

"And if you punished, let your punishment be proportionate to the wrong that has been done to you; but if you show patience, that is indeed the best course. [16:126]

Patience is key!

In the modern context, "jihad" is about fanatical domination.
It's basically the alpha-male syndrome taken to the extreme, and I believe it has less to do with sacred texts and more to do with power-hungry and trigger-happy idiots trying to make a legacy for themselves.

We live in a time of delusion and fantasy.

The image in my head: little boys with toy guns.

GW Bush and his goons (past, present, and future) are jihadists.
Osama bin Laden and his goons (past, present, and future) are jihadists.

I don't think it's a coincidence that both of these men are wealthy beyond imagining.

For every jihadist waging war against the West, there is a jihadist in the West waging war against the East. This has nothing to do with homeland security, self-defense, or national sovereignty. This is about little boys acting out their fantasies.

To put simply: there are people in the East who thrive on the idea of Western invaders.
Likewise, there are people in the West who thrive on the idea of terror from the East.

The holy war has been going on for hundreds of years and needs to end.
We can't expect Islam to snuff out their crazies if we continue to let our own crazies keep instigating the battle; Islam is the underdog after all. Either way, for every civilian that dies, either in the West or in the East, a jihadist rises to take revenge.

Jihadists.........Zionists......are they really all that different if you think about it. They both try to force their view of how the rest of us should live our lives when they in fact value no life at all. Extremism is extremism no matter what label is put on the front. These are the people; the extreamist of this world that should be taken out of the gene pool!

Your true, a strange world we live in, so many changes for the worse, aren't we suppose to be headed for a positive direction? Our technology, our ventures, our commitment for a better future are just an ideal dream behind the darkness we live in.
