It would be nice to know the age, sex and location of posters at least...

That would be a good start. But how would that be confirmed.

People could lie. So we need a way to varify.

But yes I agree

I never said you worked as a mercenary either. I alluded to the fact that you trained with and/or worked for them.

Pardon me if I'm a little defensive to people who are or were once part of a major criminal organization(s) and come onto paranoid conspiracy sites virtually demanding that everyone identify themselves and show their faces.

If people wanted to be identified, they would identify themselves.

It is of absolute no surprise to me, that you have such demands/requests, considering your background. Not very many people like Blackwater on this site, not much at all. And you requesting everyone identify themselves is absurd and laughable.

People can try all they want to nudge Facebook into ATS and try to get everyone ID'd, but all that will happen is the standard herd will roll in, and the intellects and paranoids will roll out, off to somewhere else. This game has been played for hundreds of years, technology changes nothing.

You stated that your avatar stopped people from replying to you here

That seemed like a dare to me and to anyone else reading your post. I took the dare, that's all. If that's a problem, then it's a problem. Should I replace my avvy with something similarly scary and do the old 'mine's scarier than yours' routine?

I don't think so.

Which brings me to another 'on topic' point. How is the avatar verified? Is it really a truthful likeness people provide in MrRed(d)'s ATS world?

Do I post as the lithe young female I might be or as a Mexican cartel henchman carrying an antique Bren gun?

Maybe I AM a Noriega wannabe with an arsenal or, just as likely perhaps a mild-mannered librarian? Who can tell and how would it be proven? Sworn affidavids from a Notary or a Police Station?

if people needed to do these things then ATS would lose a lot of members, not just the trolls, but also the intelligent people (like me, not trying to be cocky or anything) who make ATS the site that it is (or at least the parts that i am interested by) and no, your'e not wrong to suggest this, but it wouldnt work.

I don't care who you are. I care about your ideas. Your honesty and identity mean nothing to me. Only the facts and conjecture you choose to give me here. That's what makes this place great, not your photo-ID.

Dude, I realize it's your choice to disclose your own personal information, but frankly I think someone should save you from yourself.

Back when I did my Cp course with Blackwater it was not quite the enterprise it turned out to be. Back in the late 90's just after it formed and started offering CP courses it was a great place to train. Can't comment about now as the US gov stopped allowing foreigner to go to the US to do courses with companies like Blackwater.

Well, since people are throwing up their ID cards belonging to security organizations.. ....

I think it would be wise if people just ducked out of this thread for their own sake, or at least watch what you say.

People throwing around personal ID's tends to open a big can of worms. You don't want to eat worms, trust me.

I was simply rpoviding that to show I was not in fact making up BS about the CP side.

My ID is just a lience. It hold no actual info besides my name and Licence no.

I must display it evertime I work in the UK anyway. Its public info.

Not really. You basically said I was lying.

I was not. I like this site and I do not care if people have a problem with me and wish to come vent it.

Other thread members saw it.

Then I took it down. Some people were not comfortable with ID being shown so I withdrew it.

Dont call me a troll when im not. See this reason is why we need some form of ID here. Because someone like you can only insult people from behind your computer, its seems very cowardly.

But why? There is no reason for you to have this information. It does not make the discussions we have here any more relevant. It has already been seen here that when posters choose to reveal gender, sexism ensues from a minority of other members. I'm sure it would be similar if age was brought into the frame as well. For example, while I know many smart teenagers who are wise beyond their years, I know that some people would discount their input because of their ages and a stereotypical notion that they have no possible idea what they are talking about.

I think the most important part of this is choice. We choose to come here. We choose to display information we feel comfortable sharing with other anonymous people. We choose to participate in the discussion of some very out-there subjects. We choose. The implementation of the OPs idea would strip these choices down, leaving only the first option of choosing to come here, and if it came down to the OPs ideas, my choice would be a distinct no, I'd rather not.

Perhaps an IQ test should also be required. Forums could be set up accordingly and some folks would only be allowed to post in the "remedial" sections.

Perhaps everyone should be required to have a background test and some of the riff raff could be eliminated through that policy.

Then, a psych test should be required. There would be specific forums for the "medicated".

Everyone could be screened and checked out and would have to list their profession as well. I wonder how many telemarketers are here? I think a persons profession can reveal a lot about them. But then again, who would really admit to being cointel pro?
