living in an ORANGE peel

hey folks

i would like to share some pictures with you.
ok many pictures to be honest.

it is about my house, my city, my country …… and maybe more.

i am orange light and i live in Berlin / Germany.
it is a little village which is part of the huge city of Berlin - capital of Germany.
a village inside a metropolitan area
i love it.
it is very scenic and in 30 minutes i am at the Ku'damm or the Potsdamer Platz , at the Brandenburg Gate or at the Alexander Place .

So come and join me

the place is in the north of berlin - not that north that i can meet santa claus but very northy.
that area is called the green lung of berlin.
when i first met my house and looked out of the living room window i thought that i was on holiday

so have a first impression of the village green - and always keep in mind: it is all berlin a city of 3.5 million people!

Berlin have a lot of nice corners where you instantly feel like in another world...
beautiful corners.And in autumn its amazing sometimes around the city..


btw i was born in Waidmannslust...looks like you also around there...

right next to me is a little museum.
in their backyard they have built up some houses - i guess of ancient time.
those are the houses of our ancestors

yeah the village green with some of the old houses of the village.
my house for example was built in 1894 and has been used as town hall - or shall we better call it village hall?
my living room has been the registrar.s office - yup people used to marry in my living room
ok at that time it hasn.t been my living room.

right next door - now part of the museum - is the old school, and straight ahead the old church

did i mention that it is very scenic?

i have to admit that i am not a star photographer and my camera equipment is not the best at all - but i love taking pictures

Berlin is one of my favourite cities in the world. It has so much history and since the wall came down I can feel the vibrant energy exemplified by all the new construction and modernisation of "Mitte".

It has such an easygoing feel about it that is magical. If it wasnt so cold in the winter I would live there.

OP, I really admire your appreciation of the nature around you. Its threads like this that make ME aware to appreciate what is around me. ( www.puertojosebanus.es... )

i mean berlin is that huge and you are really a neighbor

of all place to be possible you are from waidmannslust

my ex was born in "freie scholle" you know the settlement between tegel and waidmannslust

later on there will be some pix of the "fliess" too

and yeah i love to explore berlin

as angrydog mentioned it, berlin is so full of different views
it still amazes me although i am living half of my life in this city.

we have so many forests, parks - i would like to say - tons of nature around us and yet the street lights of the city

so pix of "mitte" - the center of the city - will be posted too - later on

ahhh hermsdorf ...green,quiet but a bit expensive

mate of me just moved there cause of his daughter...she likes it green

i was pretty amazed aboutthe double rainbow

we are not sitting on the couch today, come and join me on a walk

just 2 streets away from my house is a place called "waldsee" - forest lake
it is surounded by a lottle park and high prized houses

but i love it.s colors in autumn

on one hand i just can.t afford it living here
but you know - yeah it is green
and it is better for a kid - when the ex and me left each other i took the son and he loves living here
maybe in 2 years time mitte or kreuzberg will be nice for the son
